Cry-Tom:

"hey guys i'm closing this thread so we don't have two topics on the same thing, please post in this thread in future: viewtopic.php?f=40&t=10994

We are currently investigating this issue, if you could post your PC spec in the thread above it would help us to resolve it faster."

Just so everyone knows posting system specs in this thread will lead to earlier patch releases.

at least for crossfire users get RadeonPro
1 Make a Crysis 2 Profile
2Go to Tweaks and Set Crossfire Profile to Bioshock
3 Disable Aero(optional but gives a few extra frames)
It should Look Like This in RadeonPro
Image

went from wierdo 25 fps to 70+ on my 2x6870 in crossfire

got no idea about the SLI problem but some have talked about the autoexec file and set the multigpu to 1 or

another option is to use a graphics settings config tool witch have a own post on PC forums

Spec:
Mobo: Asus M4A89GTD PRO/USB3
CPU: Phenom II X4 965
GPU: 2x Sapphire HD6950 shader unlocked and overclocked (so actually 2xHD6970)
PSU: Corsair AX1200
RAM: 2x4GB 1788Hz Corsair Vengeance DDR3 Dual Channel

All watercooled.

I did manage to complete the game in 7 hours on Veteran with only 1 card active (disabled Crossfire) but with enabled Crossfire it's impossible because of the flickering.

INSANE FLICKERING FIXED!!! (dual ATI Radeon HD 5970 PCIe with Crossfire)

I managed to fix the insane flickering for my dual ATI Radeon 5970 HD PCIe cards with crossfire by downloading the latest drivers and application profiles.

NOTE: These are for Win 7 64bit

Specifically those files were...

Catalyst Software Suite version 11.2
ATI Catalyst Application Profiles version 11.2 CAP4

Here is the link for the files

http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/radeon_win7-64.aspx

One last thing, navagating the ATI website today (so I could post this fix) I noticed that the ATI website has more then one way to navagate to their drivers and that the "ATI Catalyst Application Profiles" are not the latest in some areas of the site. The correct Application profile should specifically mention Crysis 2.

If you have a different Operating System or model ATI card then myself I would recommend useing the link below to find your correct driver. It was from this page that I was sent to the correct driver page with the latest Application Profile.

http://support.amd.com/us/Pages/AMDSupportHub.aspx

Hope this info can help some people.

Happy gameing

arkheios did you try renaming the executable to bioshock.exe and adjusting the brightness once in game? Worked for my crossfire 6950's/6970's

Also i was testing my old 4870x2 before i sell it and i noticed that by using D3DOverider for vsync instead of the games vsync i reduced flickering, may have been with the bioshock.exe as well...

been there, done that, no change in flickering. Those drivers and CAPs have been on the AMD site for 2 days already btw.
I have the same exact graphics card (HD5970 2GB)
I have Catalyst Software Suite version 11.2
I have ATI Catalyst Application Profiles version 11.2 CAP4
I run WIN 7 64 bit

no joy

I decided to re-install Crysis 1 on my PC as it had been a while I played through that. After installing I'd forgotten to update it with Patch 1.2 and noticed immediately that water and sky were flickering, much in the same way Crysis 2 flickers. After updating the game with patch 1.2 the flickering was completely gone.
(ran it in 1920x1080 on Very High settings, 8x AA)

Seems to me Cryengine 2 and 3 have similar issues with ATI 5970 when it comes to flickering

this is with Catalyst Suite 11.4, on win 7 64 bit

to me this is good news because a patch from Crytek will probably solve this issue, as it did with the prequel..
I was halfworried my switch to ATI card during my last PC rebuild was a bad choice :p

anyway...dunno if this helps anyone, just thought I'd mention it

CPU: Intel core i7 920
GPU: 2xHD5870 Radeon ("Vapor X" Sapphire edition)
RAM: 6Gb Corsair DDR3
MOBO: ASUS Rampage 2 Extreme
PSU: Cooler Master Real Power M1000
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

I went from and NVidia Quad-Sli configuration and have played and completed both Crysis and Crysis Warhead before starting to play Crysis2... Also phone called EA Customer Care to complain about SAME problems faced in playing smoothly ANY Crysis episode in multi-GPU mode, always and only been told to update my video drivers, that's all. As for me I could only say I have not solved flickering problem on Crysis2 with RadeonPro CFX profiles nor AMD drivers update/change (and of course not even just renaming game executable). Same for AMD profiles for Crysis. Just disabling CFX allowed to play with good FPS and no flickering. Of course this is not the point, no one could ever consider spending money on multi GPUs machine having to disable it in order to play latest games (which should have obviously been tested with common multi GPU set up...).
I'm now looking forward for some software support for this product. Already too late, but at least due to customers who paid to play this game on their machines.

my specs:

Asus Rampage III Extreme
Sapphire Radeon 5970
6gb ram
Core i7 930
Catalyst 11.2

I downloaded the application profiles (CAP4) and I still get really bad flickering. When I change to bioshock.exe, the flickering is LESS than before.

I hope there's a fix for this either from Crytek or AMD.

Hmmm. I have no idea then why it worked for me but not you except perhaps that this is the ONLY fix I've tried. If you followed other suggestions like renameing the .exe file perhaps thats perpetuating the problem for you. Have you tried an uninstall and reinstall of the game since your driver update? That should undo any (non-driver) changes to your game.

One other thing... I've applied the 1.1 patch for Crysis 2 and assumed that everyone else has too.

The flickering really was awful, any strong light source pulsed constantly, the worst was the sun itself. It truly makes the game unplayable and I feel for ya buddy.

You could also try reinstalling the Driver and Application Profile after reinstalling the game. Nothing to loose right?

This is a no-brainer (and I'm sure you did it) but be sure to reboot after any driver install.

Good luck.

Hey guys, here's my computer specs:

i7 930
9 GB ram
HD 5970

One day I was trying to find a solution for the flickering and I was messing around with windows mode. I switched from yes to fullscreen to no and back to yes which caused the flickering to completely stop. Hopefully this will work for others but it has to be done every time you turn on crysis.

I seriously thought an official patch would have been released before the end of the weekend.....I guess not...I tried to return this game back to Bestbuy and even went as far as speaking to customer relations and they refused to take it back because they need a RA number from EA to credit them back for the lost revenue.

EA support could not provide the RA number that Bestbuy wants to accept the return....lame. Now this game is asking me for my serial to activate if I change any drivers on my machine.....wtf?....Please fix this asap!!

Lets all try to take a step back guys. Crytek has acknowledged the problem and is working on it. I'm sure within the next few days the fix will be implemented and we will all live long and happy lives. Yes it svcks that Crytek didn't find out about this problem during testing, but what can you do? If Crytek can iron out all of these bugs within the first week of release, then I will be content.

I've found a tempt fix, which has worked for anyways, regarding the flickering,

specs:
i7 860
4gig ddr 3 ram,
2x gigabyte gtx 460 1gig SOC.

basicly when i open the game, and start single player, it has the filckering,
but when i open the game, go to multiplayer, start, lets just say 1 game, have a bit of a play, exit multiplayer,
then start a game in singleplayer, the flickering is gone.

can anyone else confirm that? Or am i the only one.

So, all we have to do, while we wait for Crytek guys to deliver a patch, is copying the Crysis2.exe file from the installation disk and replace the one in your computer with it. The flickering problem seems to be caused by the patch 1. In fact, when you copy and replace that file, make sure you do NOT perform the update the system asks you to. Unplug your net cable or disable your wifi while doing this. Now, start the game, max all the graphics settings up and start the campaign... no flickering, both GPUs are working, all looks great and everything runs smoothly. This is a temporary fix, but at least we don't have to create profiles with CCC or radeonpro, which work but cause lower FPS.

I hope this help

Just changing Radeon Pro profile to Bioshock didnt fix my issue.

Go Advanced (when crysis 2 profile selected on left)

Advanced-Mark the Catalyst A.I. box and set Catalyst to Disabled ( Bring it to left)

Its fixed my issue. I can play game perfectly with no lag or flicker. But it is simply disabling one Graphic Processor

And let you play with one. I can play 1920x1080 with Extreme High Resolution with 50 fps. But im playing

multiplayer with High Resolution and get better FPS and better game playing. After all im waiting for Multi GPU

support so i can use my all GPU and get best gameplaying but still its really good.

For those you guys can't record RANK.

Try to disconnect server when you level up and just wait in menu like 10 seconds. It fixes for me

i know it's annoying but it is only option for now. I hope CryTek fix this fast. And i'm hopeful about it.

i think they just made best FPS game around here and this is not a big problem :) / I have Radeon HD 4870 x2 by the way/

Thanx for reading, comment if you like it.
See you in Multiplayer games.

prefer to stay at the console to the PC scene has nothing to do! Or you can invite someone either from Infinity Ward will help you to make a PC game. if not remedied within a few days you never branded Crytek will not buy anything. not only that you open the beta to steal games, but you do not have the guts to finish. shame and scandal
