dual GTX 480 with no prblems

I wonder why it's so hit and miss. I tried with 3 way as well as 2 way SLI of my 480's and 2 way just made the flickering even worse and full-screen.

1.2 better address this issue.

u can turn off crosfire or multi gpu mod via ure software for ure graffix card or u can simply runn the game in windowed mode it works for me over 3 screens so its just great.
also heard that by reenaming the *.exe file to shift2.exe it also workes ...

Good luck

We're not looking to run the freaking game in windowed mode at 1/2 the FPS or turning off our GPU's.
That's not a fix and if you can play games at 1/2 the FPS in a window and be happy then good for you, but some of us are a bit less tolerant of mediocrity.

Just tried those. Didn't change any thing for me. Still flickering and broken motion blur if I enable SLI.

Though they really helped a few other games run very very well now with 3d vision and 3-way SLI. :)

My PC doesn't recognise the file. It's says 'unknown file' for some reason. There is no Nvidia icon either for the executable...Strange.

Confirmed from me too that the new nvidia driver does not stop the flickering with Geforce 280m GTX in SLI

I googled this problem last night (as I have 2x ati 5770 X-fired) and the flicker from the tables, windows etc was insane, I checked to see if there was anything I could've either done wrong or alter (in the settings) but nothing,

This was what I found (via Google) from:-
http://tehparadox.com/forum/f18/crysis-2-crossfire-flickering-*fix*-1813331/

---------------------------------------------------------
Crysis 2 crossfire flickering *FIX*

No sure how many people have been having the same problem as me with serious amounts of flickering in game when using multiple GPU's but if you are having this problem here's a simple fix!

Updated 3/29/2011 WORKING BEST FIX!!!
NEW FIX using the Crysis2 profile

Open Crysis 2 root file, open backup folder copy Crysis2.exe.bak and rename as Crysis2.exe. Open Bin32 folder (if you are using 64bit OS) and Replace Crysis2.exe file with the one you have just renamed from the backup folder. Seems it works perfectly - running at 90fps no flickering!! Hope it helps you all"

Single player game now seems OK to me, (no flicker at all), so until the official FIX comes out, this will do for me...

Good Luck & Hope it works for you.

Just tried this and still have the flickering, using the Steam version with a 5970 and the latest 11.3 drivers. Maybe it was a fluke but when i updated to 11.3 the first time i just installed over 11.2 and did a reboot, then other games that never flickered before started to have the same problem. Final Fantasy XIV, Bulletstorm, and Dead Space 2 are the only ones a tried, so i did a fresh install of 11.3 after uninstalling and sweeping and the other games stopped flickering. I don't know what to think anymore, maybe this is a problem on both Crytek and ATI's side. On a side note the steam overlay while fullscreen in game flickers as well, almost like a strobe type effect.

I've tried every driver since dirt and all the beta ones.

It's not a driver issue. It's the game.

I'm running the 11.4 preview drivers, just installed the 11.3 CAP that was released today, and I'm still getting flickering. 4870X2 here.

Clearly, we need a patch from Crytek.

March 23 Catalyst 11.4 Previews + 11.3 CAPs + with and without renaming to Fear.exe like CatalystCreator said to do via Twitter, and the result?

without renaming: Still flickering
with renaming to Fear.exe: Large dark blobs all over my screen. WORSE than the flickering!

WTF!!! Someone needs to get fired, for real.

If I still can't play my game within 2 weeks of release I'm gonna be one pissed off gamer. I'm not sure if steam can do it, as I've never tried, but there better be a provision for refunds in the case of completely unplayable games.
