Same card, CPU and Memory

Cat. 11.3 and still insane flickering [I think maybe a little better than before, but still almost unplayable on any outdoor maps]

I can confirm that the new CAP (fix for steam version) did not work for me. I will try again when they release the CAP on the AMD site, but the one on rage3d had no effect. (and yes, I use Steam).

If I Alt+ENTER and run the game windowed with my native screen resolution i can get rid of the flicker
The only downside is that I can see a little blue bar on top of the screen

This works with my HD 5850 CFX

Actually running window mode just disables crossfire, that's why it works.

Did you try CAP 11.3 too ? link above, it's been released a few hours ago, fixed the flickering issue for a lot of people. Don't forget to restart your PC..

Also i forgot to mention that i did not get any boost on my FPS, it works just like one GPU, both GPU are in charge 99 %, so still need some kind of patch to improve multi GPU, at least the flickering stoped for me

Alt-enter still doesn't do anything for me. flickers persist.

Actually it's odd, if my desktop is in 3 screen surround mode of 5760x1080, then running the game in a window does clears up the flickering, but the FPS is so low it's not worth it anyhow.

And what the hell.. they update the "PC fixes and Info" thread again today, but still no new info on this game-breaking issue?

I'm starting to think they have no idea what's causing this and we'll no see a fix in 1.2

Installed the new CAP, it worked, flickering appeared on the menu, but i solved it changing the brightness level and then restoring it, 0 ingame flickering, however, the performance is really poor.

Edit: Actually the flickering is still there, in the sky...but not so insane...

Give us something crytek. We've been sitting here for over a week with a non-functional freaking game.

I had to advise my friends not to buy this bug-ridden failure as most of them are on multi-GPU's and didn't want to risk being hit with this crappy bug.

Yeah get this sorted, its ****. None of the fixes work for me except disabling crossfire, and i'm not willing to do that.

I'm not even sure they've figured out why it started happening now when the demo was fine. I mean why wouldn't they at least post an update saying "we've tracked down the cause of this and 1.2 will have a fix"

No it's just total silence on the issue. They've updated the "PC issues and fixes" thread 2 more times this week, but still nothing new on this game-breaking bug.

Hello guys,

Andrew D (Catalyst Creator) says:

Here is the profile that fix the flickering on Steam version:

http://www.rage3d.com/index.php?cat=75#newsid33975741 (download it and restart you pc) - I guarantee, it will resolve!

and the fix for the standalone version (box) is :

rename the exe (Crysis2.exe) to (fear.exe).

At least it's a temporary solution, but in my case (steam version), it works and the graphics is full enjoyable!

I'm not convinced we're even all experiencing the same bug.

On the NVIDIA side there's nothing to do with drivers or profiles that fixes this flicker.

yeah i think PLG is right, its not all the same bug. I have an nvidia gtx 295 and I only get the flicker in nanovision and on the levels where its supposed to be raining, the rain effects are also totaly missing. Its a shame I have a friend with a 260 and he has all the effects yet my more powerful card is missing out.
SLI is working fine in the fps dept I couldn't be happier with performance but the missing rain effects plus flickering on the shadows, nanovision and on the actual nanosuit during stealth kills are annoying me.

Also like stated above for nvidia users no amount of messing with profiles or renaming the exe works. For instance if I rename it Rift it fixes the flicker but the fps tank and the game only uses 50% of my gpu. So its either have good frames with a crappy flicker or bad frames with no flicker...

Gman does yours look like this?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjpN5HoX8xA

I also get broken motion-blur as you can see with this SS, (looks more like a single ghosting after-image than smooth blur like it should)
http://s4.postimage.org/61uaggucf/2011_03_27_00001.jpg

I think it's something in the how the post-processing is being handled by the SLI, like not all the cards are rendering the effects on every frame it's whacky.

My flickering looks like this and thats even a dimmer level than the first one, so its worse the brighter it is.
At this point I'd rather just have my money refunded and maybe pick this game up when it's on some kinda sale in Steam, but I know that isn't going to happen.

That doesnt work for me, with VSync off I get strange shadows all over the screen, with it on i get the shadows and the flickering is back.

However the framerate is much better than earlier.

We know you're aware of this and probably working on fixing it as I type, but could you just pop in a tell us that? I'm sitting here with no idea if the game I bought on release day will be usable in 2 weeks, 5 weeks, 3 months? Give me a hint here so I can uninstall this and make room for something that works on my SSDs while I wait.

I agree. I fixed mine with the original .exe. I wonder if its system related.
Right now I'm running:

i7 2600k ; Asus P8P67 Pro (Sandy Bridge) ; 8Gb of Corsair Dominator 1600 C8 and a Sapphire 5970 2 Gb.
No OC on anything.

I almost want to go buy a retail copy now and try to get a refund from steam.. at least then I could enjoy the 1.0 single player campaign without these glitches that 1.1 introduced.
