I am glad that I read this forum BEFORE buying Crysis 2 for my PC. I have it for 360, and enjoy the game.. but I have a rig with SLI and wouldn't want these problems. As well, I got the Crysis 2 MP demo from Steam and it was ALL funky. Flickering, and tearing, and you couldn't see your health or the map most of the time. I hope that EA/Crytek fix the PC game because I would really like to play it on my PC.

the common denominator here are the developers. they push out a game, start the next one, push out a game, repeat. what they should be doing is stick with the game by improving it with DLC. DLC is why im still playing L4D2. prove to us that you really value what you created, and that you value your customers. look at World of Warcraft, CoD, Mass Effect, or The Sims. all BIG NAME TITLES that get constant DLC. i dont know how developers can be so blind. sales go down for one reason and one reason alone. what YOU made wasn't good enough. what do you think would happen if Microsoft kept releasing Vista quality OS's? who or what do you think they would try to blame it on? Us? Piracy? that's a cop out, and it will only last so long, til your studio gets closed and you're working on Sponge Bob games with a desk in a corner next to the bathroom that one really fat guy uses and comes out smelling like he used his hands to wipe his ass.

an example that they don't give a crap... this site. the site they say is "the" place to get your info. Cry-TOM and the DX11 patch available March 28th rumour comes to mind, yet have you seen any Cry-Members post in the last 20 pages of this thread with anything to make us feel better? no. why? because they think we cant do nothing about it. guess what... we can. if you don't fix this in a timely manner, your sales are gonna drop, and piracy will go UP! console users are complaining too, so it's not like you'll have them to fall back on if you don't fix these numerous issues. WE WILL BE HEARD, or YOU'LL be out of work!

I'd like to end this rant by sending a shout out to Andrew D aka @CatalystCreator on TWITTER. He gives DAILY updates on what's being done regarding the Crossfire flickering.

yea i fully agree. I'm reduced to one-liner updates coz words fail me at this stage. I want to play the game I bought 8 days ago. At least the game came with a mini game called Crytek Community Forums

Sorry, I thought that was your first post on this thread. The only place I'm actually getting daily updates from is @CatalystCreator on Twitter. i'm running two HD 6950's.

Most recent flickering updates (AMD):

Yes - something changed in the app last minute to cause issues with CF support (Crysis 2 and Shift 2) - hoping for updates next week...

GPU 99% and mouse lag are still being worked on - very hard to repro and root cause, will let everyone know, once we have something concrete

Most recent flickering update (nVIDIA):

Posted 31 March 2011 - 07:29 AM EST
nVIDIA Technical Support - ManuelG @ nvidia.forums.com
We are still investigating this problem. It does appear to be an app bug and will likely require a patch from EA.

That seems to be the common theme here. The fact that Crytek changed "something" that broke multi-GPU support and conveniently decided not to tell anyone when it was apparently working fine in the demo is very annoying. The fact that here we are almost 2 weeks after release and all we have are suggestions to rename exe files to force profiles to run for other games aren't solutions. Fix your game Crytek. I am this close to going to Best Buy and begging a manager to take the game back.

BFBC2 was not exactly like crysis2 it was not a FLICKER AT ALL game it sometimes was flickering.

I'm getting bored of this game, it was already not worth buying with respect to previous Crysis in my opinion and now it could not even be played with latest GPU settings... Bah. Crytek you are really bad. EA, you too. And phone customer care is useless by the way.
As for me, NONE of the temporary fix suggested here worked. And sadly I'm starting to think that incompatibility with multi GPU setting could not be considered actually a flaw in the game. So this could not even be turned back to sellers or something like this. And nor will be fixed then...
If you just look at the retail box like the one I've bought there's no word precisely telling about CFx or Sli technology compatibility.

Yeah EA support's answer to me was "please disable SLI" and try. They do train those monkeys well down in their call center.

Wow 11.3 CAP profiles don't work again. WTF is this ****! Why do you keep releasing patches that supposedly fix crysis2 issues and all they do is take up disk space?

Because it's probably not a driver issue.

Because it's probably not a driver issue.

Well then why don't they just announce that it isn't one instead of claiming something works if they haven't even tested it.

Do the new ATI profiles even actually say anything about fixing flickering?

Nvidia seems to think there's nothing to be done on their end.

Yes, actually "New profiles added to this release:
- Crysis 2 (Steam version) – resolves flickering seen when running in CrossFireX configurations."

Don't know why they are claiming its a fix when it did nothing for me. Steam Version, ATI 5970
