Also, launching Crysis 2 while crossfire is on not only causes flickering but somehow screws up my other games.
I'm curious if anyone else has this issue, I get the exact flickering in most of my other games after launching Crysis 2. Requires a reboot to fix the issue, the only game i haven't seen do this is BFBC2. Not sure since i bought it way after release but didn't it have similar problems?

for sli get EVGA SLI enhancer, and you also need the crysis2 advanced graphics settings aplication. (also use 270.51beta drivers if using nVidia GPU’s)
for Crossfire X get the C2 ati Profile update problem solved
Also for Crossfire flickering it has been an issue since C1 you may need to set Crossfire AI to normal

Do the new ATI profiles even actually say anything about fixing flickering?

Impressive, you were only 4 days late on that one.

11.3 CAP1 3/30/2011
New profiles added to this release:
- Crysis 2 (Steam version) – resolves flickering seen when running in CrossFireX configurations.

Soooo tired of hearing NOTHING from Crytek. It's like they took our money and said "screw you all".

I just want to point out again that if you use the SLI fix that you will be missing out on the rain effects, some motion blur, and who knows whatelse. You are better off using 1 GPU. I am very disappointed in Cry-tek. They should know better.

going windowed (i.e not full screen) disables crossfire, that's why.

The 270.51 doesn't fix a thing. I'm still getting flickering with GTX 460 SLi. It seems like when I disable postMSAA, FSAA, and EdgeAA in system config file, I no longer get the flickering. But this doesn't "solve" anything. You either have to sacrifice anti-aliasing (a crappy one at that), in order to not get flickering? Which isn't even 100% sure. I've tried all the WHQL and Beta drivers and I still get flickering. Just awesome Crytek. I've bought at least 3 copies of Crysis 1, and 2 copies of Crysis Warhead all brand new. And this is the thanks I get? I'm sorry if I come off strong, but I'm very upset.

This is me putting off playing the single-player campaign since the game came out to wait for a patch that is far and gone? Forget DX11, as that's out of the question. But what about important and crucial fixes for the game like this flickering and losing all the nanopoints? The multiplayer is broken. Cannot even connect to a server. 90% of the servers have identical 1000 ping. What's up with that?

This only gives PC gamers more reasons to not buy a game on launch day, let alone anywhere near the 3 month period due to the lack of support/patches for major issues in a game. I don't blame them at all. More and more, now I understand all the hate behind Crysis 2 I've read on forums across many game websites. I'm willing to bet more people will buy this game at bargain bin prices or steam sales then retail prices. And that may be a year or two from now.

All this deafening silence from Crytek on this issue had better be because they're just too busy fixing the issue that they haven't had time to update us.

If this isn't fixed with 1.2 I'm going to be **** pissed.

Bump. Worst problem with a new game in recent years. A terrible bug which is preventing me from using a product I paid £34.99 for and still 10 days later it remains unfixed. Disgraceful

I am also flickering - GTS 450 SLi :( Installed AdvancedGraphicsTools and disabled MSAA (this only works for me on version 1.5 - not working on later versions) to have the flickering go away. I do however get "Ghosting" now :(

To be honest I think its more to do with DirectX 9. Its a great game to look at, and I think the average joe wouldn't know the difference between DX9 or DX11. The reason why I feel that this is the issue is because a lot of older games be it 3-4 years old don’t seem to run so well on a SLi or Crossfire set up. I was a fond player of Battlefield 2 a few years ago, and even brought it through steam, and it won’t even run on 1 Ati HD5870 for more then 5 mintes, let alone 2 of those in crossfire, as it boots you out of the game.
And all i have seen is people going on about a hot fix renaming the .exe to another game to get it working? we are defeating the purpose and I’m sure that a proper patch is in the works. In saying that, it doesn’t mean that I will deal with it and just play the game with a single card, I to want to utilise this card with a multiple GPU system also and hopefully sooner rather than later. So unfortunately I have to wait rather than be constantly frustrated at ill-fated online “fix’s” that none of us have been able to be truly confident about.
So that’s my rant, I think that the more newer pieces of hardware are phenomenal in what they can achieve graphically and performance wise, but it’s just that DX9 may be a less then desirable choice of GPU manufactures who foresee a future beyond what Crysis 2 was to promise after all.

Bump. I know you've seen this Crytek. We're not letting it fall off the first page. At least **** acknowledge you messed something up and tell us when we can expect to play the game FFS.

I agree with you brettyboy01, Rift is the same scenario being dx9 and suffering from crossfire issues. You would think that by now developers would be designing games that foresee people utilizing multiple gpus and add support for it.

As for the dx controversy I'm not as passionate as some, i actually think they did a fairly good job with the atmosphere in Crysis 2, however the shift of game design to the consoles sickens me.
