Crysis 2 Multiplayer Demo (PC)

1. I suspect that's more EA's doing, but I wouldn't be surprised if the truth was somewhere in the middle.

2. Agreed my maximum good buddy ol' pal.

3. is a magic number. Yes it is, it's a magic number. Somewhere in the ancient, mystic trinity, you get three, as a magic number. The past and the present and the future. Faith and Hope and Charity. The heart and the brain and the body give you three, as a magic number.

It takes three legs to make a tri-pod
Or to make a table stand.
It takes three wheels to make a ve-hicle
Called a tricycle.

Every triangle has three corners,
Every triangle has three sides,
No more, no less.
You don't have to guess.
When it's three you can see
It's a magic number.

3. Ideally I'd like to see a $1/1 hour ratio, which is why I have no intention on paying $60 for a 6 hour long campaign if I am not interested in the multiplayer. The 20 hours of gameplay I did make up rather randomly, but that is the point where I would consider dropping $60 for a single player FPS game if it is very good. Lately I've only been playing full price for games if I have friends to play multiplayer with.

I kind of liked the demo, although I'd rather have had a portion of the single player game.

Now I had to disconnect about 3 times straight after the round started because the textures wouldn't load properly (had to reboot to fix it), then spend a couple of rounds getting used to the controls/ adjusting them and trying out the 3 graphics settings (and being rather unhelpful to the team in the process)...

That is exactly the reason I always play the single player portion of a game first (if I decide to play online at all), so I won't have to jump in like a complete rookie and get my ass handed to me for half an hour until I figure out what's going on.

(I mean, I still fall down the roof about 3 times a round)

I played it a bit a few days ago and thought it was pretty fun. I played the 360 beta and didn't really like it much on there, it didn't control very well on the console, but it controls very nicely on the PC. You can tell that Crytek aren't very experienced with console games. It runs very smoothly on my PC and looks excellent too.

Hmm that's weird.
Considering that the guys who made the multiplayer aren't the original Crytek team at Germany but Crytek's adopted studio which was known as "Free Radical" which are the guys who made Timesplitters and Haze, both console games.

The Crytek UK guys didn't make the multiplayer from scratch. The core gameplay (perhaps not the best term) will have been developed once and used in both the single player and multiplayer, and I very much doubt it was the UK guys that developed that part of the game.

Why did they have to make it a Call of Duty clone?

I didn't know you could go invisible in Call of Duty.
