CRYSIS 2 MULTIPLAYER ISSUES (SURVEY - POLL)

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 5:35 am

Hello all.

Not here to starts fights with Crytek. but i just wanted to get an over view of just how many people are having issues connecting to the multiplayer in this game. To see if its a minority issue or not. So to do this i just want to get some quick Stats from you and then i ask you to vote in the poll above.

Remember this is NOT a hate crytek thread (there are many more of those if you just click the back button) so here is the info we need

1.) What is your Ping (add Lowest/Average/highest) these don't need to be exact

2.) Do you have connectivity issues with the game? (Yes or no? (explain) -Also vote in poll-)

3.) What is the most common error you receive

4.) Do you have these issues with any other Multiplayer games (yes or no) , if so state the game

--------------------------------------------------------------
Okay, So even if you don't have any connection issues with the game please post and vote NO in the poll and remember, Honesty is KEY, lies won't get us anywhere.
--------------------------------------------------------------
If you have found any solution to your Network issues, please post along with your stats

here are mine

1.) What is your Ping (add Lowest/Average/highest) these don't need to be exact
wired connection
~20/60/160

wireless
~30/160/350

2.) Do you have connectivity issues with the game? (Yes or no (explain)? -Also vote in poll-)

yes, Occasionally. sometimes the game plays perfect other times it will not connect.

3.) What is the most common error you receive

Connection to host lost, typically about 2 minutes into the game.

4.) Do you have these issues with any other Multiplayer games (yes or no) , if so state the game

Nope

---Your response important and could be the difference between a fix and the issue going unnoticed. ---

Something i think might work!
Just opened these ports and have yet to have any connection issues as of yesterday. I'll report back when/if i do. I attached a picture so you can try this as well.

I for myself get into multiplayer games and get disconnected constantly and i am on cable modem and have no connectivity issue with all my other games that i play online. So they really **** up something i don't know what but my PC is up to date i even upgraded my network card drivers to the latest to see if it was something on my end. I tried even to connect my PC directly on my cable modem with no firewall in front and i had the same result.

Worst part is how Crytek handle their issue there is no sticky about the current issue and i am sure there is a few thousand people having the same issue.

I am pissed to have paid a game i can't play and will never buy another product for that company and we should even sue them for not doing anything about the issue.

Yeah, i'm having the same damn issue. I wish they could just give us feed back on THIS issue. everything else like "Push to start" they fix/recognize as an issue but this crap goes without any feedback.

1.) I have never entered a MP game

2.) I constantly get the "an error has ocurred. Please check your network connectivity" error no matter what I try

3.) "an error has ocurred. Please check your network connectivity"

4.) No. For a short while I had problems getting Borderlands to work when the game first started, but I managed to get connected within a week.

Is there a chance that the graphics settings generated in an autoexec file (such as the one generated by Wadie's Crysis2AdvancedGraphicsOptions) be implemented in multiplayer as well? Or is this a bit OT...

1.) 40/100/300.

2.) Lost connection to player/host error. Regularly. Usually between 1 and 5 minutes of entering Multiplayer.

3.) As above. The connection to your opponent has been lost. You've been signed out.

4.) No issues with any other MP games.

My Ping is average 50 but it can raise very high 999.
Pings on server browser are false.
For example, a server in Russia gets 109 and in France....1000. I live in France by the way.
I think that if the server browser is fixed people will choose the right server according to their region, it might solve 80% of disconnections.

1.) On Servers in my own country I have an average of about 7.
On Servers in my own region about 24.

The game doesn't calculate pings correctly though. My guess is that you can about double the displayed pings to get a somewhat realistic magnitude.

2.) I have no connection issues after patch 1.2. Also all needed ports are forwarded.

3.) None.

4.) No.

1. Lag spikes, everything is normal and well untill everyone is stuck and some get disconnected
2. dark ground textures, relly ugly (i5, GTX 460SE, win 7 64bit.)
3. This happend only after the last patch, shadows sometimes flicker, as in, dissapear and appear rapidly, truly annoying.

EDIT: I did not number the above according to the OP.

I have been unable to stay in a game for more than 3 minutes. Always get "connection to your opponent has been lost, returning you to login screen" I don't even have to be in the middle of a game, it logs me out even if I'm on the first multiplayer menu screen. This has happened from day 1 and even with the beta/demo!
My ping is around 50 at most.
No issues with any other MP games.

1) 30/150/1000
2) yes, Occasionally. sometimes the game plays perfect other times it will not connect.
3) Connection to host lost
4) No. For example: No problems with a network in Bad Company 2

1.) 50ms - 100ms (depending on which server i'm playing, can be higher if I'm on a foreign server)

2.) Not until today which is very weird.

3.) Just today I'm getting: "An error has occurred, Please check your network connectivity."

4.) No

This is very weird I was able to play multiplayer without any problem since I bought this game about 2 weeks ago. I was even able to play as normal yesterday but now, today I'm unable to connect with gamesas account. I get this error msg: "An error has occurred, Please check your network connectivity." How can I have problems with my network when I'm here posting here in the forum? I'm also using a modem.

1.) 60ms - 100ms
2.) Yes, constantly since buying a game, got only 2 days when I could play online without problems, and few random moments when I managed to get 2-3 flawless rounds. Other than this it's constant disaster.
3.) "An error has occurred, Please check your network connectivity."
4.) Everything else works perfect

Salut a toi,

Kicks me out after 3 to 5 minutes in multiplayer. My ping is never over 40. This is really unnacceptable, 34% of people have this problem.

I've never had any connection problems.

To be fair to Crytek, however, most people who are NOT having issues will not be posting or voting in this thread. They will be playing the game instead or doing something else; they don't need to look for solutions or complain on the forums. This is hardly a good estimate of the number of people having these issues.
