Crysis 3 Multiplayer - Need HELP!!

Post » Fri Mar 08, 2013 6:41 pm

Hey, sorry for seeming ike the stereotypical n00b, but I'm in desperate need of help. I have an absolutely horrid k/d ratio, and I really want to get better at the game. I'm a bit newer to PC shooters, so any tips to do with the game and FPS PC tips would be incredibly helpful. Also, I think I can attribute some of my problems to my high ping, which I've never encountered before. If anyone can give me some tips about how to lower my ping with any MP tips, that would be amazing.

Find your game style and weapon. Low sens, low graphic settings and more practice.

I am an experienced fps player but not an experienced crysis player and I am constantly getting my butt whooped. The no recoil helps people spray from long distances. The bow is reminiscent of the awp. Overall I really enjoy this game. Hoping, like you, to get better at it. I've been doing a lot of cell vs. rebel. I like it more since you don't have the nanosuit.

Im pretty good with the FY Semi Auto, but I still can't compete with the better players with lower pings and better weapons. I was playing last night and the same guy killed me 3 times in a row, even though I respawned on different areas of the map, and I barely moved anywhere. dont know if the guy was hacking or if he was just that good, but all I can say is that my k/d ratio last time I checked was 0.271 -.-' so I really need advice for ping and MP

The only way to "lower your ping" is to play on a server geographically closer to you. Filter the servers by location, pick your continent and don't use the server latency reading in the server browser (it's usually WAY wrong). Anywhere on your continent should give a ping of <150 which is fairly playable.

The rest is all practice I guess. The really dumb thing about this game is that once a player has fully unlocked all attachments for a weapon and leveled modules to Tier 3, his gun is going to have WAY less recoil/spread and possibly even higher damage rate (Rapid Fire) than the exact same gun being used by a newbie, giving the newbie even less of a chance. It's really stupid in a competetive multiplayer game where everything should be fair n' equal, but the only way you can deal with it is pick a weapon and stick with it till it's nice and leveled.

Sooo currently the overpowered weapons are Scar Mod 2 and Alpha Jackal. There is nothing that comes even close to these two guns right now, the Jackal especially in close-midrange maps is almost unstoppable. Scar/Jackal are getting a bit nerfed in the upcoming patch but they should still be strong and usable. Level up those weapons, use module combinations like Auto Armor + Weapon Pro + Maneuverability, or Auto Armor + Rapid Fire + Maneuverability, etc. Stay constantly on the move, camp as less as possible and try to keep your back covered...movement plays a huge role in this game, helping you staying alive and gaining an edge on enemies.

Practice practice practice, beginnings are always very rough in fast-paced games like these :D

Some good advice was given in this thread: http://secure.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=60983

Look also for vids of good players, I haven't had time to watch any recently, but maybe others can give us some links.

Maybe it's already time for a sticky and videos with tips for beginners, isn't it?
