for a game that is a miltary FPS like BF2 id say yeah prone is useful but for this which is a fantasy sci-fi shooter and its very fast paced for the most part id say it doesnt really need it. Its like AVP, there was no prone in that, why? because it was a fast moving, fast paced game.
AvP had really terrible gameplay though so thats a pretty bad example. You cant even aim down sights, lean, crouch or go prone in that game..
A game can still be fast paced while having prone and giving examples of bad games that didnt have prone doesnt prove otherwise.
its a good example because of the factors involved and the gameplay, while its a pale comparison of the PC version its still better than most shooters out there on console.
why would you want to aim down sights and even attempt to track a xenomorph moving along the wall at a rediculous speed? or even try to track a predator when its sprinting towards you. ADS didnt make sense in that game because to ADS means you have to slow down and in AVP you never want to be slow.
lean? crouch? once again why would you want to slow yourself down when theres wall running and invisable death machines running around?
the idea of slowing yourself down in a game were you need to be on your toes and fast moving doesnt make sense to me.
It like saying why isnt there any prone in unreal or quake, or why isnt there any ADS in unreal or quake?
trust me old school gaming with non ADS is so much better.
