8800 GT for minimum? i have a 260M GTX (laptop) (which is a slightly better 9800GT) and i play crysis with a custom high setting (warhead ccc level 3) with some setting set to very high on a 1600 by 900 resolution. so minimum crysis 2 will look like high in crysis 1? cool. that also means that consoles will have graphics bellow PC minimum.

My full PC (alienware M15x) specs are:
-Intel i7 Q720
-4GB RAM
-Nvidia geforce 260M GTX
-64 bit windows 7

(i know its low compared to some others but its good for a laptop lol)

I can't believe...

Like before, in Crysis 1, minimum req. is unplayable.

Intel Core i7 2600k 4.3GHz
Asus P8P67 Pro mobo (using the SATA 6Gbps until the RMA in March)
8GB Corsair RIPJAW 1600
EVGA GTX 580x2
256GB Kingston V Series SSD x2

I think I'll be just fine :D

Well as far as console vs PC "specs" go, you know, on the PC you have to run a fully-fledged OS along side with the game. So, that would take slightly more juice.

The percentage of PC users who play Crysis already take that into mind. Doesn't take that much to answer your question, you could ALMOST say that the OS is idling. Except Vista... :P

My dual core laptop plays crysis 1 on medium settings and a crappy graphics card with 40+ FPS.

Min specs means nothing, i'd like to see recommended specs or/and how will the game hit the hardware maxed out :)

Hope you guys used dx11!!!

To be honest, those minimum requirements are pretty high. Especially on the graphics side. If it starts with an 8800GT at 512MB, the recommended is probably going to be a GTX480, or even a GTX580 if nVidia really bribed Crytek.

Good thing it doesn't seem to stress too much on the CPU though, only requires a laptop CPU.

It will always be about the graphical power for Crysis 2, the rest of it. Our Pc's/Laptop's can handle :)

Good to know the mins at least although I am confused that they are higher than the mins for Crysis despite Crytek saying the game would run better than Crysis. Plus the fact that these mins are better than console specs :?

On the other side of the coin you could say it's good that the minimums are 'relatively' high - that would suggest the game is going to be able to test higher spec systems. Meaning stunning graphics, audio & physics - unless the engine is really badly optimised :D

The reason why they're 'higher' is because they're being honest about what constitutes a good baseline system, this setup will likely get you medium at a half decent resolution. Also, back in 2007 they couldn't say:

Minimum req: The best stuff out there.

They look about the same real requirements as the original.

Probably at Low-Mainstream settings. But it's Crysis 2, worth the game-play.

Cool. Now we should expect a recommended requirements announcement in a minimum of 10-12 weeks. During this period of time, you may experience or encounter: Comments from moderators that do not help whatsoever; A feeling of anger and/or disappointment; Announcements that look official but apparently are not.

We thank you for choosing gamesas!

Either way I'm getting geared up for this game. Just replaced my Radeon 4870 with the new GTX 560 OC. I'm super excited. Can't wait.

Will be interesting to see what the requirements will be to run the game at max.

I'm happy about the once-off internet activation. That I can do! :P

Would this laptop be able to run Crysis 2

Core 2 Duo 2.0 Ghz (to be exact, its a P7350)
ATI Radeon 4570 (512 DDR3 Dedicated, 1790 Shared)
Windows 7 64 Bit
4GB Ram (DDR2 800Mhz)
500 GB Hard Drive (5400rpm)

The exact computer model is a Toshiba A505-S6965. It can run Warhead at medium settings at around 20 FPS at 720p. The original Crysis runs at low at 720p. I don't think this even meets the specs, although I would still like to know if this can run the game.
