Crysis 2 - Official Minimum System Requirements : Crysis

No doubt we'll put up a news article shortly but in the mean time...

Our PC fans will be excited to know that we’ve finalized the PC minimum system requirements for Crysis 2. Check them out below!

PC Minimum System Requirements

Operating system: Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7, with the latest Service Pack

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo at 2Ghz, or AMD Athlon 64 x2 2Ghz, or better

Memory: 2Gb (Vista requires 3Gb)

Hard disk space: 9Gb

Video: NVidia 8800GT with 512Mb RAM, ATI 3850HD with 512Mb RAM, or better

Sound: DirectX Compatible Sound Card

DirectX?: 9.0c

Controller support? Microsoft Xbox360 Controller for Windows

Any special multiplayer requirements? Internet Connection Required

Internet connection also required for a one-time authorization when the game installed/first run.

8800GT is really the minimum? I know it's old stuff in the PC world, but it's much stronger than the GPU in the Playstation 3 or Xbox 360. Consoles are below minimum spec, then.

At least, we have system requirements that ?low, more like already high. It's going to be a hardcoe Hd Pc game indeed.

the minimum requirements are not low at all . 8800gt is aprroximately the same with 9800gt .

The 9800GT is a 8800GT. It's just a rebranded card.

This is very strange. 8800GT can run Crysis on high setting...
We need GTX280 for console graphics? Hahaha. NVidia forced it to Crytek...

I think these specs are in the words of Jimmy McMillan "Too Damn High". My brother could play Crysis with a 7600GT fine.... I know this game is upgraded and his card is outdated but you guys said Crysis 2 would be better optimized. How does Crysis Recommended Specs go from an 8800GTS to Crysis 2's Minimum Specs an 8800GT? I remember two days after Crysis came out a member of the forum made a patch to allow DX 10 settings in XP which my brother also used fine....with a 7600gt....

I played the 360 demo and I know you guys could have optimized this better for PC's.

Can you run Crysis 1 atm? If yes then don't worry too much. You'll atleast be able to enter Crysis 2's menu

Nah. I'm just kidding. I'm not an expert, but by seeing that the required card is 3850 and your's is 3800 I think you can run it. Just wait for the demo and see for yourself.
