in all of my googling this seems to be an issue that is most often seen by STEAM users?
I contacted EA support and was told I need to find a computer running Vista and I told them "you realize you're company gave away thousands of copies of Crysis 1 to gamers who preordered Crysis 3 and the majority of them are most likely NOT running vista"

anyways the issue is the Black screen. Start the game, screen goes black, nothing, then crash to desktop, no error, no dialogue box, nothing.
here's what i've tried so far, and reddit hasn't been a help so far, I should have come here first

I have a feeling i'm screwed but here goes
system specs: AMD fx-8120, 8gb DDR3 1600, HD 7870
what I have tried: disable antivirus, firewall Compatibility mode: Win XP, XP sp2,sp3 Vista, Vista sp1, Vista sp2, all these modes with Run as Administrator turned on and off
My origin copy did not have a Bin64 folder with it but I tried one that I downloaded anyway, no change.
Attempted to run patch files from EA, all patch files tell me my game is up to date. restarted origin, restarted windows, all drivers are up to date.

I will be forever in your debt whoever can help me get this to work (i'm thinking steam summer sale reward?)
