Crysis (original) crashes upon startup

I have the steam version, but that forum doesn't seem particularly helpful.

So, some time ago I installed some mods for the game (I think they were Mster's config and the particle effects one), and then I decided to delete all content of the game from my computer. You know, uninstall via steam, and then look at the folder, delete that stuff too, and then call it quits.

Well, I reinstalled it via steam and it crashes every time I start up. I get this error:

Running on Windows 7 64 bit. Updating and going back to old drivers offers no differences. Current GPU is a GTX 260 running 197.45 drivers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tried that, just updating the drivers didn't work, and it sort of made sense that it didn't, as the last set to affect the GTX 200 series were the 197.45. So I went and looked in "My Games" and then deleted anything in there Crysis related. That did the trick.
