Crysis 2 PC 1.2.0 Patch Notes - Update #2

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 8:59 am

Why do you guys with the X2 Cards still have Problems?
A proper fix is out since the 30th March !!!!

ATI Cards : http://tehparadox.com/forum/f18/crysis-2-crossfire-flickering-*fix*-1813331/

Nvidia Cards : http://extreme.pcgameshardware.de/actionspiele/147890-crysis-2-sli-flimmer-fix.html

Alternative Workaround for all cards:

Open Crysis 2 root file, open backup folder copy Crysis2.exe.bak and rename as Crysis2.exe. Open Bin32 folder (if you are using 64bit OS) and Replace Crysis2.exe file with the one you have just renamed from the backup folder.
This one does not work if you want to play online without getting kicked though.

Hope you guys stop whining now.
If it doesnt work for you then you are simply too stupid to follow instructions.

I dont take credit for the fixing - im just telling the world where to look.

If you had googled "crysis 2 flickering fix" on your own instead of whining the **** out of this blog it would have saved us at least 50 pages.

Again : most of you are simply too stupid

YOU IDIOT! THERE IS NO FIX!
START HERE...

...THEN STFU.

You say PC patch 1.2.0 "Fixed a bug where players lost Nano Catalyst points after restarting the game"....BS! I have been waiting since day one when my points stopped collecting for a patch to correct this. You say it's fixed....but I just reloaded every save game I have, and it's still not fixed! I have collected at least 5000 NC points in the last hour but my point total is still 000. I have been able to live with all the other weird bugs I have encountered, but upgrading your nano suit is a major component of this game. How can this not be fixed yet??! Such a shame that a great game got released before it should have. I give up. I'm returning this POS game. Far Cry....how I miss you.

Do we get the same fixes as the PS3 version? Did they fix our music too?

PS3/360 patch:

* - A number of AI fixes and improvements (single-player campaign)
* - Improved anti-cheat protection
* - Fix for missing and corrupt sounds
* - Fix for music tracks repeating when they shouldn’t, and two different tracks occasionally playing at the same time
* - A range of networking improvements, including fixes to host migration
* - Fix for Capture the Relay where the CELL team would occasionally not be able to pick-up the relay in the second round
* - Addressed a bug with the “Show All” radar option when players would intermittently not be shown
* - Ammo crates now disappear from tactical hints when they’re emptied (single-player campaign)
* - Fix for a number of After-Match Awards not being correctly allocated
* - Fix for inaccurate audio being played during the kill replay camera
* - Smoothed the transition into and out of the kill replay camera
* - Fix for the battle announcer audio occasionally reporting inaccurate Support Bonus information
* - Fix for the Deflection bonus staying permanently active if held by a player at the end of a round
* - Fix for menus scrolling continually if a direction is held on the left anolog stick during load
* - Various Skill Assessment fixes so stats are tracked correctly
* - Leaderboard fixes for data occasionally being shown in the incorrect column
* - Fix for an issue with shadow rendering
* - Fix for crouch and zoom being on the same button in one of the alternate control schemes
* - Added additional announcer signposting when approaching the score limit in game modes
* - Fix for players of rank 50 being shown as rank 51 in-game
* - Improved ledge grab transition speed
* - Reduced lag when switching weapons
* - Fix for a Stealth Kill bug where, if performing a kill on a moving target, pressing the button would sometimes drag players along behind that opponent instead of performing the kill
* - Fix for explosions occasionally not rendering in the kill replay camera
* - Fix for an issue when trying to switch weapon during a slide, where players were sometimes left in a no-weapon

Filter settings in server browser are now retained.

Pretty cool, that was annoying as hell. Kudo for the anti-cheat, very much needed. Thanks Crytek.

but what about the other issues that make multiplayer unplayable?
disconnect from opposition every 30secs on dedicated servers, can only play through quick match and then im connected to some server half way across the world with 400-500 ping. then the random dc's and crashes and then experience not tracking. whats the point in fixing half of this stuff if a large portion of players still cant play the game

? Default player count required to start a game from the lobby lowered to 4

I suggest PC version Default Player count required to start a game from the lobby be lowered to 1 instead of 4 especially for RANKED servers etc..

And have half the peformance. No thanks.

Half? lol, sorry to ruin your dreams, but only the money you paid for your graphical performance doubled. Your graphical improvements will hardly pass 25% and only in games that handle it properly ;) The juice is definitely not worth the squeeze about multiple GPU systems, better buy a very good single card then renew it sooner, it'll be much better for your economy bud ;)

http://www.anandtech.com/show/4254/triplegpu-performance-multigpu-scaling-part1/4

NOW SHUT UP.

fine, good for you, and especially those whom you gave your money for, because it's not a benchmark you're playing, it's a game which DOESN'T NOT handle multi-gpu properly. Too bad isn't it? Your improvement does not depend on a bench result, it depends on how good a specific game handles it.
Now, as you told me to shut up which is of course the ultimate settling argument, I would like to show you something that you could notice in seconds if you would have took the time to read just a bit the page you linked me.
If you take a look at the minimum framerate of a game like Crysis:warhead, in a full HD resolution (or about, 1920 x 1200 actually), you'll notice that one of the lowest results is around 40fps, with only one card, and using 3xSLI helps to rise until 46 fps... 6fps earned by buying 2 more cards....
of course with some other cards, you get some real improvements with 2xCF, but if you goes in 3xCF... then the improvement... decrease!!! No man, are you being serious with me? Read what you link before you tell people to shut up and appear yourself as an idiot.

And just for your personal culture... above 24fps, it's fluid for an human eye... so if 30fps at minimum framerate isn't enough for you, it's not an hardware retailer you need, it's a shrink to fix your ego problem.

I'm telling you this because I tried multi gpu before you did, trust me, and I can assure you that you'll get more satifaction in enjoying playing very nicely a game like crysis 2 with an high end performance standalone graphic card, knowing you will have spent a reasonable amount of money, instead of encoutering issues (like you do right now) with 2 or more expensive cards without being able to get the same result before ages.

The nano catalyst bug is fixed. If you want proof, just restart a level before you lost them and/or a new game and it won't happen. If it doesn't work for you, it's probably because you were already at a negative number (as can happen with that bug) and the patch can't really fix that because it would be impossible to know how many points to "give back" to you. That might svck but if you're already more than halfway through the game I would just finish it as you're bound to get enough catalyst points to at least have most unlocks for the start of the second playthrough.

Also, anyone complaining about a lack of a fix of SLI/Crossfire problems doesn't seem to understand that those problems occur because the videocards are making a mistake in rendering the game (which is why for a lot of people the problem is solved by renaming the .exe to something else). Don't blame Crytek for it because that's impossible for them to fix. It needs to be something that ATI/Nvidia fix in a driver update on their end. I would assume people who have a dual-GPU rig would know that by now.

EXCEPT @ NVIDIA.FORUMS.COM, MANUALG (TECH SUPPORT FOR NVIDIA) SAID ON MARCH 31 2011, THAT ITS THE GAME, AND CRY-ADAM SAYS THEY ARE WORKING ON A MULTI GPU FLICKERING FIX. IT'S AMAZING SOMEONE THAT CAN WRITE SO MUCH, KNOW SO LITTLE.

Well, cost efficiency does play into the part of considering a purchase, especially if it can preform better than a single card for less cost most of the time. Of course, there are risks associated with multi-GPU setups that anyone that has been building hardware or been into graphics card would know. Unfortunately, some people do not understand that. Some games right now can't squeeze much out of multi-GPU setups but that hopefully will change as more and more developers try and get the issues fixed beforehand on games. Unfortunately, Crysis 2 did not do so.

Also, 24 FPS is smooth for people, and usually, some videos don't go above that limit. I can only agree to that statement if it was the minimum FPS that a player would experience. However, there is a significant proportion of people who like me, would rather play at a higher framerate because there is a significant difference for us going beyond 30 FPS. For me, games will tend to cause a relative decrease in response and movement for me that I don't like and although it is tolerable, I can't game at that framerate for more than half an hour. For these people, I hope you understand that we just need that extra FPS for a better and more comfortable playing experience and that it is subjectively necessary for us, but I can't really speak for everyone.
