If the current 360 players don't get a new xbox upon release, then i'll believe that they don't care about graphics.
So a New Xbox is better then the Old Xbox? lol thats great!
You know there just adjusted to be quieter and cooler?
No truly solid info, but it's known that microsoft will likely be using an AMD fusion II part for the successor to the 360, which is a very quiet, cool
mainstream PC part. Mainstream being cheap as hell but also performance light compared to high end parts. the xbox and 360 were both high end at launch.
This, and the moves they are making towards the PC market (return of exclusives and renewed manpower in GFWL?!! WTF M$? GTFO and leave PC gaming to valve!1!) means one thing:
The xbox 3 will be a casual gaming platform while the PC will become microsoft's 'hardcoe' platform. I personally don't like the idea of it, i'd rather keep the xbox live players on xbox live (not to be harsh, of course, but my extensive experience of xbox live makes PC gaming so much better for me) and it reduces choice. But all evidence so far indicates such a two pronged market attack from microsoft, and it would be a very good choice for them. Instead of a jack of all trades for the games division, they will gain two kings (considering the PC already competes very effectively with consoles without a sugar daddy).
I reckon sony will be the only company left with a traditional console next generation, but even then it's not certain.
Also, i do laugh at 'graphics don't matter'. Why did you buy an xbox 360/ps3 when ps2 generation games have the same complexity overall and are cheaper? No matter what such people say, if their chosen platform looked the best they'd be all on these type of forums spamming 'we're da greatest' like flies to a turd. 'Graphics only matter' to fanboys when their platform is the best. Fact.
I, however, know that for more immersive games we need better graphics. Simple as that, and anyone arguing otherwise should go slap themselves in the mirror. repeatedly. Gameplay is very important, but do you really think games like mass effect could have their impact in 8-bit colour? hell no. Those who argue against graphical improvement are short sighted and thankfully are not those who drive this great industry to achieve the heights it should attain. It's also not about pushing as many pixels as you can either, it's about being able to create a world the player can truly believe in, and that becomes much easier when you don't have some bug eyed freak staring at you every time you talk to someone
