There's tons of info. What do you want know?

It's going to be made in Cryengine 3, Tom posted awesome screens with lots of foliage and detaild.
The lightning will be improved. The controls will be similar to crysis 2 as well as the suit modes. All levels from Crysis 1 PC version will be I the consolne version (minus ascension as the devs said people did not like that level) and will retain their size. It's going to cost 20$ or 1600 MS points. Release date is october 4th.

I highly doubt the map editor will be in it, although we can hope.

No map editor as far as I know. It's going to be single player only.

if it is a singelplayer level the campaign is going to make no sense and besides they have been working on the game for more than 2 years why wouldn't there be one in the game

oh for the love of ........

http://xboxlive.ign.com/articles/119/1193440p1.html

there, single player only

Ascension is a single player level where you drive a VTOL from point A to Point B, the campaign will still make sense without it and it was removed because popular consensus is that the level svcked

happy now?

@ crimzontearz

I think Crytek is making that up.
Ascension wasnt bad at all. I remember more people complained about the alienship and the "frosty" levels being out of place.

let me make this easy

PC folks We console player Know that the pc graphics are better
stop repeating the Same *

one down now to the Level!

Stop trying to Prove you have the Better Version
We already Said that you do

and that is just with the Controls
if the Devs can do all of Crysis just not this level
and the Reason behind it was because Many PC players did not like it
it sounds like a good move..

Crim i think i cover most of it
you think?

you did....point is it will not make a difference. For some of the PC people the simple fact that a console version exists is an heresy

@crimzontearz

Not exactly. Its Cryteks philosphy that angers me as a PC Player. It was mentioned by Cevat Yerli himself that Crysis 1 and the goals that they tried to achieved with it are not compatible with the current gen- consoles. And if you look @ the Crysis 1 specs, its still a game that needs top notch hardware to run smooth enough and look good at the same time. Most PC Players ignored Crysis because they said: This is a badly optimized game if even my 450$ GTX 8800 couldnt run it maxed out. But now all the new Interviews and statements point exactly into that direction and invert all the statements from Crytek about C1 in the past. The Cryengine 2 was a licence disasterpiece. It was barely used for any other than a Crytekgame and thats because it proves to be a huge waste of ressources. It because of the consoledevelopment that Crytek begins to acknowledge their mistakes of the past but instead of givin their PC community and fans a few more patches or optimizations for their games they left everythinh as it is and spend all their time converting Crysis 1 for consoles. Their attitude seems to be that releasing a game doesnt include a standing facility manifested in patches and support. Its the same thing with Crysis 2... the game is far from being rid of childhood diseases such as sound and grfxbugs. But hey.. game is out it runs somehow .. were outta trouble .. let the money flow... that seems to be their attitude by now. The high res patches created even more problems and added more glitches and issues to the game instead of really improving it. half baked unoptimised pieces of trash in my eyes. With this kind of support and love for their PC community they cant expect anything but scepticism and anger. Its also this kind of politics that slowly destroys Pc gaming.

that is not entirely their fault. Old school PC developers always thought that the solution to all their problems was to throw more "power" at the issue or let modders fix it later. They can't possibly do that for consoles. You are confusing cause and effect here.

@ crimzontearz

Not entirely... but they choose to jump on that train and abandon the strongest gaming platform there is and there will be.
And its also no excuse for delivering a badly programmed engine or game. Its a fact that the Crysis 1 multiplayer and the Crysis wars multiplayer failed big time because Crytek just ignored the issues and constantly refused to give us patches.

So the cause for you is that because every other developer does certain things in a specific way... Crytek has the right to do it the exact same way.. Thats rubbish for me. Cryteks reputation among Pc gamers was funded by being pioneer developers who ignored common statutes to improve Pc gaming and grfx with X-isle and Far Cry.

So for the money we PCplayers spend on our machines... the time we spend to create mods and/or correct the developers issues.. we get nothing but a kick in the nuts and inferior console ports while consoleowners get all the attention. Im not a pure Pc gamer by the way.. but its my first and favorite gamingplatform and it deserves more attention and love than Crytek gives it these days.

raw power will not matter anymore by the next generation. Crytek chose their path apparently and as long as they keep delivering awesome games (in spite of some glaring bugs) I am unfazed by their platform of choice. Also, you can't really blame them for becoming more console centric, there's just more money in the console/multiplatform market. How do you think the Mass Effect fans feel for instance? Thanks to ME2 being ported to PS3 a ton of the original ME1 choices will probably have very little impact in spite of the promises made to us. But we have to understand Bioware and EA, there's just so much more money in mulntiplats.

What about achievements and trophies? Any word on those? I read through some of the "Crysis1 on consoles" threads and didn't see anything mentioned. Anyone know anything about this?

There will be achievements/trophies. It was stated somewhere. Can't exactly remember where I read it, but yes. It's console Crysis, of course it will have achievements. All 360 games do. It's required I believe.

crimzontearz:

For me as a customer all i care about is the product.
And the products these days are technically limited consoleports who obstruct the evolution of games on the PC and so the evolution in general.

that is because there is more money in console developement

also, Games will evolve on console on their own without the need of a PC counterpart to lead the way, always did...always will. I am sorry your platform of choice is being shafted in this particular case (in other cases it is the opposite I mean look at TW).

The problem is as a Pc gamer youre in some sort of doom loop.
Pcgamers can easily pirate games. They do it in some cases because they dont want to spend money for bugged console ports.
( Me personal i just dont buy these games instead of pirating them) Please lets not argue how often and why Pc gamers pirate .. there is no trustful statistic and there is a huge darkfield that annihilates representative facts.
But for me that is the MAIN reason not to buy a game... i want a visually better game than a console can offer thats why i payed over a thousand bucks for my machine. But as you correctly mentioned consoles is where the money is... and now even Pc exclusive developers like Crytek turn their backs at us.
In the past Pc gaming and consolegaming didnt crossed paths... multiplatform caused this whole siuation for me.
