Crysis 2 Replay value?

Post » Wed Jun 01, 2011 12:03 am

I don't play many games mainly cause most games arent well designed
what i mean is i can only play most games a few times because the second
time around i know EXACTLY whats going to happen why can't video
games now days have more replay value? for instance they always have
a enemy come out at a certain time, or like 5 cutscenes a level i mean
atleast wait till the levels over for the cutscene its annoying playing the
level and having to watch that cutscene again and again a good idea would be to
make the cutscenes after levels and
randomize enemy spawns places and what weapons they have ect, that way
the game would be able to be played for years to come and most games don't
have a good single player cause all anyone cares about is a competetive multiplayer
and a "Story"...

Wait... What?

Have you never played the first Crysis? I mean, if you haven't, boy you've missed out. Not trying to sound harsh, but Crysis definitely does have reply value. It being a "Sandbox" game, you can take all sorts of routes and do things differently.

Since this game also has a fixed storyline, you're gonna have to expect to see the same cut scenes over again. I wouldn't mind decision cut scenes, where if you take a different approach to the story, a different cut scene will appear (I know a few games that have this).

Also, games like Fallout 3 have huge re-playability. It's because it plays like an RPG, and RPG's are usually games that have different routes.

I also don't get why cut scenes should be showed after the end of the level. What's the logic behind that?

Yeah, you need to pick up Crysis 1 if you want to experience open gameplay and replay value. :)

Cut scenes should be whenever they are necessary for the story, having them at the end of the level is just plain stupid in my opinion.

A good way to improve replay value is to have bonus levels at the end of the game that can only be accessed once you complete the singleplayer campaign and finish every objective (primary and secondary) on the hardest difficulty, like Goldeneye for the N64 which was years ahead of its time.

In Crysis Warhead we had such a bonus(collect all special frogs and change the last level, there will be a big frog instead of an alien in the box) And even so you have seen it and than you already know what will hapen. So it's not a way out
