Crysis 2: Retaliation D.L.C-Why You Should Buy it!

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 12:21 am

10 dollars is a pack of cigarettes. Why are people so stingy all of a sudden? or is everyone just poor?

-ClaytThaGreat

It's nothing to do with being 'poor'

It's called principle. Crytek have ignored us for 2 months, so I'll ignore them.

Until the many many many issues are patched the DLC can be ignored.

Sadly, I have to agree, most DLC's are finished with the game, and how big was the download, a few KB or Mb.
This all sounds like hate mail, but it's not the case, this is the fact of the matter.

A Relationship takes two, if only one-person talks and the other just, well listens but does not attempt to engage in conversation. Then this is a one sided relationship and is doomed. A relationship, like a community can only grows if people are willing to talk.

I didn't have any issues in the lobby tonight, my only gripe is that they mashed crash site, assault, ctr and extraction together with the option to vote to play one gane type with a specific map vs a different game type with specific map. It's different, usually people vote crash site. Its really gonna bother people who like ctr, assault and extraction.

If you ignore them and say, don't play the game, the issues will never get fixed because the game doesn't get played. Why bother fixing a game that nobody plays? If the community doesn't abandon the product and the product doesn't die, the developer will fix it. Also, patches cost money. Revenue from DLC will get put towards fixing the problems and issuing the patches. smh... some people.....

If I understang you correctly. You are saying that previously, I could pick any game type & then have the option to choose 1 of 2 maps where as now if I play the map pack, not only does the game select the 1st 2 maps for me it also chooses game modes as well?

If that is the case then Crytek are giving me more reasons not to buy DLC. Seeing as its harder to find Extraction or Assault matches it could be a good thing but then again I don't think it will be. I don't like the sound of it at all. I prefer CTR, Assault & Extraction more than the other game types. I'm aware not many people like Extraction or Assault & like you said most people will play CS which I don't like. So where does that leave the people who do like the other modes? I don't mind maps being dictated but not game modes. I would not buy these for the simple fact that I don't want to play CS or TIA all the time.

If I am understanding this correctly then any thoughts of me wanting this DLC have gone. Even if you released a patch that fixed everything I'm still not buying it until you change this back.

Crytek, You must of been aware that CS will be choosen 80 to 90% of the time so I dont understand why you would do that. This is very disappointing Crytek & will also put people off. Maybe you should pay more attention, listen & get feedback from the community because the way you have released these maps is well.....Retarded.

Yea I just noticed it on the marketplace but I'm not buying that ****. I may come back to this game once it works properly and is not a piece of ****. Until then I'm not even playing this game. Really wished I had waited until this poor excuse for a game hit the bargain bin for less than 20 bucks. Complete waste of my time and money. The worst part for me is that I bought this game for the multiplayer and it's the worst part of this game. **** off Crytek. I hope your **** studio goes bankrupt.

Yes Bleed has it right, as I played with his last night and said in another thread:

Split up CS and CTR from Assault. I played yesterday with my squad and we were all pissed. We wanted to play CS mainly and not have to rotate other game modes in. Then again this is bad for people who enjoy Assault and CTR-this needs fixing.

Also, try and integrate the NEW maps with the Original maps so we do not have to leave the "Retaliation" area to play the Original maps.

Those are the only 2 gripes we had last night. Otherwise the maps are sweet (played all 4 several times) although some quite large it feels like you need a vehicle to get around. Finding a match was not terrible, but it still would rotate lobbies/kick people out. Once in the match, the lag etc was rather minimal for most of our matches.

The only 1 thing that I cant get working is the signatures. I know you can only quote 3 people but if you read the error message it tells you you cant quote more than 3 people at a time.

Other than that it works perfectly for me evern on the PS3. The PS3 forum dosent run as smooth as this so i'm happy with its performance.

I'm not saying to ignore them by stopping playing the game - we've already spent money on that.

My point in ignoring them is to not buy the DLC until the patch comes out (if it ever comes out) that fixes the poor Network Coding.

No Patch = No Cash.

Agreed,

This game should have been delayed for a month/2 months/3 months to get it right.

They decide to release it unfinished anyway.

Now, before I waste even more cash, I'd like a finished game before I pay you more money for 'DLC'

well, you guys can trash talk the game all you want but i played on the dlc and its epic. Definitely a breath of fresh air. Would note that i would also buy maps in the future if they decide to release some. My opinion though

I personally would like to see some kind of SP DLC along the lines of Crysis Warhead. Also it could have new MP content as well like Warhead. That would be the ultimate DLC for me.

I think a good direction for the single player would be elaborating on the vehicles. I would love a level where one of the suggested objectives (The green hexagons in visor, already forgot what they're called) would let you steal a ceph gunship, decimate the entire lvl & wreck in into a building on the far side (maybe wiping out a heavy or pinger in the process) where you jump out during the crash & finish up the mission.

Now that Gould is safe, he could be like Leonardo Da Vinci in Assassin's Creed, giving you boosted powers and new modules, possibly upgrades in return for side missions.

How about since you're in New York you make the short trip south to the Jersey SHore. Snooki is actually a ceph that is spreading the virus STD style, and she's much more efficient than airborne transmission. You have to use the nanosuit to re-write the composition of seagrams Gin to include anti-biotics so the virus gets contained, the Jersy SHore gets destroyed.

The last one was a stupid joke, but I would like to see some SP content similar to the first suggestion.

I think Rasch(sounds cool when he call the suit a 'nanoshell'!) will play the roles of upgrades to the suit and gould to weapons? at least counter aliens technology
