» Wed Feb 20, 2013 4:42 am Okay so first off I'd like to say that Crytek has done it again! Crysis 3 is simply stunning and I'll explain why below!
It's obvious that Crysis 3 is just a "polished" version of Crysis 2 but who cares? Crysis 2 still has one of the best graphics out there and the Cry Engine definitely doesn't need an upgrade at the moment. So with that being said I'm going to start off with the graphics.
Graphics: The graphics are absolutely stunning! I still struggle trying to find the words to describe it... Outstanding, Epic, and all the other complementary words just seem like I'm underestimating the power of the Cry Engine. I'm rating the graphics a 10/10, obviously, and I'm just going to say that this automatically wins best graphics of 2013. They are just spectacular!
Gameplay: As the game is very similar to Crysis 2 the feel of this game is just a lot "smoother" and it's freaking awesome! The game doesn't feel heavy at all, it literally feels like you can do anything. The movement of the character in both multiplayer and campaign is just flawless. I really love what Crytek did with the game and I'm looking forward to some kick-ass downloadable content in the future. But there is a downside... For console gamers anyway. It seems this game is just way too powerful for the consoles and it tends to freeze at certain points. There is no doubt that this game pushes the consoles limits but hey, it's freaking amazing! Sadly though because of the random freezes and frame-rate drops on consoles my rating for the gameplay is 8/10.
Multiplayer: The multiplayer is awesome... Just like the last one. The multiplayer, without a doubt, is the best part of the game. Not cutting the campaign short because its epic, which I'll get to later, the multiplayer just kicks ass. From all the weapons to the maps, this is possibly the best multiplayer I've played in a while... It's definitely the funnest multiplayers that I've played in a while. I mean what other game can there be a random VTOL Warship flying around that you can just hop inside and mount the turrets? Or pick up objects and chuck them at your enemies and watch them get destroyed? I can tell you... It's non existent. Crysis is the only game that provides this type of online gameplay and its FUN! I literally banked six hours of gameplay online when I got this game its so addicting. The multiplayer is flawless... No doubt. 10/10
Campaign: The campaign is breathtaking! What else do you expect from the developers from Crytek? They make quality games and I LOVE that. Not too many companies do that anymore and I respect them for that; I really do. But Anyways continuing onto the campaign its almost perfect and by "almost" I mean a few things made it fall short. For consoles, as I mentioned before, the campaign seems to much to handle and it saddens me. This game is so gorgeous and fun but the consoles just can't handle its awesomeness! The campaign has a solid storyline and just svcks you in! Once again Crytek does not disappoint when it comes to quality games. The campaign is epic... There's no other way to describe it. But for the consoles lack of ability to run this game flawlessly I'm going to rate the campaign a 8.5/10. (And the reason this falls under gameplay is because the game only freezes, on consoles, during the campaign.)
Audio: The audio in this game is stunning. Everything sounds so real! Especially if you have a gaming headset. Everything from the weapons to the environment, its just wonderful! The music is so catchy and peaceful, at times, which really helps drawing you in further into the match or mission. Crytek did a really nice job on the audio this time around... And by that I mean they didn't overuse one sound through the entire game like they did last time. I give the audio a perfect rating! 10/10
I really had a blast playing this game its something different and it's really a nice way to start off the year. This game is going to win a lot of awards, I just know it! I highly recommend this game to anyone that loves the Crysis series or is on the verge of getting it. It's worth every penny!
And my final rating is a 9/10. So close to perfect but the consoles just can't stand this game at times which drops its rating down. But hey its still an awesome game!
