Crysis 2 Stereoscopic 3D on ATI

Post » Fri Jun 03, 2011 8:52 am

Hey Guys,
Hoping a member can help me out. I know Crysis is supposed to have multiplatform 3d but I cant get the 3D options from being greyed out in my options screen. I can get 3d using tridef, but I want to try Cryteks method.

I have a ton of other 3d games working through tridef/iz3d/their own control panel and have no issues there.

PC:
i7 920 @4ghz
12gb DDR3 Ram
AMD 5870

Hooked up to a Optoma HD66 Projector.

I have found adding the following to system.cfg
variable: r_StereoSupportAMD = 1

Allows me to view the control panel. But there is no setting for stereoscopic support for dlp link?

I am not sure but I think the 3D option is nvidia only (at this time) - maybe crytek update this for AMD/ATI in the futur.

I tried the iZ3D driver, and managed to get Anaglyph 3D working (mind you, I don't have a 120 Hz monitor), so it should work if you do it that way.

Though I think you have to pay for the driver if you use anything else than anaglyph..

Crytek is nVidia Sponcored boys... so you ATI/AMD guys have a problem.

Just be happy they didnt go as far as they the developers did with some other games like Batman Arkham aslylum, where in the Demo advanced Anti Aliasing worked for both ATI and nVidia cards, but in the Final game it was Intensionaly Blocked.

This happens with more games and benchmarks to give one card manufacturer an unfair disadvantage over the other, curently the biggest example of this is Heaven 3D DirectX 11 Tesseletion Benchmark wich results are as far off from reality as they can be.
Its nice to see that websites runiing benchmarks usualy also bench S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat, with DirectX 11 and Tesselation (and it even has the nVidia the way its ment to be played lablel) wich shows totaly difrent results.

Dont get me wrong, im not a fan boy of intal, amd, or nvidia, but i do not like companies handing out privileges etc. to create a better picture of them selfs at the customers cost.

My buddy runs BOTH Nvidia and ATI cars on the same system (Nividia for the physx only I think) and plays on 3 giant monitors. So that's his work around LOL

I am stunned. 3D on the XBOX 360 version on my i7/5870 will NOT even do side by side simple 3D like the 360. I can't believe this is so painful.
