Because as an Pc player i have to buy a freakin comicbook to resolve the mystery about what happend after that son of a bich cliffhanger ending of Crysis 1. You know what Crytek? That was the proverbial middle finger for me!
" oh you liked the game? You fought hard to come here huh? Muha Screw you player1! Buy the next crysis if you want the answer..." It was already shameless that we got left behind with one of the most unsatisfying endings in videogame history.. but if this punishment wasnt enough, you have to squeeze the last drop of money out of your loyal fanbase and let us buy stuff to compensate our curiosity.
Lets see a successor would be a game which is continuing the story of its predecessor right?
For example... Star Wars a new hope ends with the destruction of the deathstar and Vader getting away..
Star wars the empire strikes back begins on hoth but its following the same charackters and it is constantly referring to its predecessor. So what you at Crytek would have done would be.. ending deathstar.. Luke Han Chewie getting honored... Empire strikes back... now Wedge Antilles is the main charackter and we are fihting against death star no 2.. buy the comicbookseries for further information...
I know consolegamers mostly dont now the story... but why could there be no videosequence telling them and us what happened before? Would this be too much to ask for?
So for me its Crysis: battle for new york... but not a successor in any way of chronology and so no Crysis 2.
