Crysis 2 takes FOREVER to launch from Origin.

Post » Tue Nov 29, 2011 9:00 am

Don't know if this is an issue with Origin or just the game itself. Been happening since I bought Crysis 2 from Origin a few days ago. Seems everytime I launch Crysis 2 for the first time of the day, it never launches. Origin says I'm in Crysis 2, but the game never loads. I wait for about 3 - 4 minutes. I have to close Origin and End Task the "Crysis 2 *32" process. It's only on the second try does Crysis actually load. Now I can run Crysis in DX11 and High Texture mode just fine. But it just refuses to load when i try to launch it once, i always have to close Origin and then try it again.

It may be just Origin, however. No such problems with DVD, Steam, or other digital download copies of Crysis2 v1.9.....

Supermanreturnz has a good idea. I made a shortcut to

\Program Files(X86)\Origin Games\Crysis 2\bin32\Crysis2Launcher.exe

It launches Crysis 2 without Origin running at all and I'm able to Login to multiplayer and join servers as well as single player of course.

Why bother using Origin then? Only Battlefield 3 needs Origin.

Not true...you can run BF3 without origin...

Only the Battlelog homepage is essential for the game...
