Crysis 3 tessellation and crysis 2 tessellation

Post » Sun Feb 17, 2013 10:09 am

Not sure if anyone knows this but when crysis 2 got the DX11 update ... forums and anolysis looked at core of game and showed exactly what crytek did in order make users think there hardware was bad and to go buy another GPU..

http://hothardware.com/News/Indepth-anolysis-of-DX11-Crysis-Shows-Highly-Questionable-Tessellation-Usage/

that is just one of many sites saying same thing some more detailed then others.

i'm wondering if they going pull same stunt with crysis 3 .. it's hard for me to judge based on beta i played ... but i has strong feeling they pulling the same stunt again to increase hardware sales ... i know for fact there aiming at GTX 680 as ideal card to max crysis 3... again indicating this could be true that they are in fact just poorly optimized to make people think its hardcoe on the GPU, i know for fact that even 500 Nivida flagship cards and Amd 6000s flagship cards should be able max this game with smooth frame rate no doubt about it.... these cards are not slow at all and i know this.

it was dirty on cryteks behalf what they did to crysis 2 heeps unnecessary stuff with no visual impact but draining the frame rate.

so i do hope to god they don't pull same BS they did with crysis 2 honestly beta did look pretty good could looked better and could run smoother but it is a beta so... but how can i trust crytek again?

Second paragraph in that article is wrong. The engine doesn't tessellate the water under the map, it shows up in wireframe but has no affect. The tessellation units don't actually render it when it is occluded like that.

Maldo actually ran tests with tessellation on/off and found a 10% performance hit. Yeah, they're really out to cripple cards to force people to upgrade, NOPE.

The rest of your post is a biased opinion without any facts.

all BS there is plenty of trusted sites said same thing as link i posted go look your self... are you just fanboysim? i know for fact what these gpu's are capable of doing, and i also know that bad optimization methods is given with crytek just like some other developers like Bethesda.

http://techreport.com/review/21404/crysis-2-tessellation-too-much-of-a-good-thing/6

and also tomshardware and anandtech have articles on it and tested them selfs. malbo? yeah the guy that moded the game with HD rez textures but does not mean what he has to say is true. i rather listen to people that know what they are talking about, and understand how GPU's work not just fanboys supporting bad methods, like it or not what i have to say is all valid. what you just said some modder guy said it does 10% hit ok? you got nothing back it up. even if you did i would listen to tech people and people that work in the industry.
