Crysis 2: The Importance of a Demo - for all Platforms

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 12:18 am

I joined this forum because of crysis 2, and so that i could contribute till the release. Its just that i hate secrets, especially from the people who made one of my most awesomely favorite games. I mean, i fell in love with just the demo when i first got my hands on it from a british game magazine for $5 bucks. As what logan said from above, im getting shivvers to what crytek plans to do with the game and if there is ever going to be a demo at all. crytek you guys got me with just a plain demo, and i felt real love with just that. I even spied on this site and made this account and my name into Cry-Fan just for you guys!

I completely agree i figured out about
crysis from the demo on a friends computer
he did not have the game but he said it was
really fun so i tried it out and could not believe
the quality of the game i thought the game was
well done with even just the basics of the game
like plant physics AI was descent and i loved the
fact that i could swim through the water to sneak
up on the guys i had so many options!

What I see all over here is people saying that Crysis 2 svcks because they haven't released a Demo... Seriously guys, be patient. March ain't here already and until the end of February, we won't hear anything about a Demo, or if one's even to come. And for me, it's fine that they aren't spoiling the whole game before it comes out. We have three missions, that we know, one boss, mutliple alien classes, new movement ability and enough of the story to make it exciting. We want the story to be amazing from the beginning, and not that we say: "Meh. Stop talkin' I already know that yet." And be honest. We know almost EVERYTHING about the multiplayer. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. They can't release news every freaking day (as I mentioned in another thread). It would not only ruin the game, but let our expactations rise and rise until they can't no more. We will be disappointed and Crysis won't be continuing any further.

Calm down. Now!

You people are a bunch of whiners, and this thread should be locked.

Sorry that Crytek is too busy working on the actual game to bother releasing a demo or video TWO MONTHS before the release! In fact, the BE THE WEAPON trailer is only a week or two old... have some goddamn patience.

Were not whiners, we re expecters. We didn't say we wanted the demo now. We only wanted to know if there was a demo? or the existence of a demo. I d even wait till march for it as long as there is one.

And yeah, I ... have some goddamn patience.

The thing that would cause this thread to be locked is people abusing one another.

Of course people can freely show their support for whatever matters most to them, so long as it doesn't involve abusing each other and it's on topic.

Back on topic, sweeties. :D Most of us have patience and the nerve to wait.

It's just that we need a demo some time soon to ease such matters. Maybe between February or March which is the release date will be a tad more understandable. The point of this little tiff discussion is to solve the need for a demo, not whine about it. am I not right Talon? or do I need to explain further.

Fiction..... and crusades too i suppose....
and 99% of us wouldnt care if he called us gods ass shavings that fell from heaven and splatterd onto the earth on our descent to hell.

really, its an internet forum about a game.

Back on topic, im hoping that we get a demo some time in the next month, or at least some conformation wether we will or not. waiting in the dark gets slightly monotonus, and it would be nice if crytek could finally shed some light on this topic.

Can we please get back to the discussion about a demo and not rant on, about someone's inappropriate behavior any further. That person did make a slightly un-believable complaint and got blasphemous too. But that should not be the end for this thread, we are still here and we support it. If he wants this thread locked, he'll be on his own.

Now back to our discussion. >The need has already been stated and repeated a large number of times. Now all we have to worry about is When will a demo be appropriate ?

it would be appropriate from now till march, because Crysis is one of those games you can replay many times before you have "done it all".
it would keep me entertained for at the very least a month, and while we are all busy with that they can use the quiet to polish up the game/make the next C2TV ep.

how hard is it to make a demo anyway? cant they just cut that chunk out of the game and stick it up for download?
(i know its far from that simple but really? these guys are trained professionals)

I agree with you, and the timing would be way better during feb. or early march.

As from a professional level, a demo is the first priority when making a game for presentation and testing purposes. It takes a lot of effort, but itll be worth it in the near end.

As for you too.

Once again, to all. :)

Any information regarding to the possibility of the demo, would be nice to this point by now. The tensions have risen once again, and I cannot control it. Your all entitled to your opinion and choices whether supportive or negative. That's all I have to say. :) And it's good to hear that some of us are serious about this but that shouldn't be a signal to show improper behavior. The demo will have purpose for each of us. It would be more suitable for all of us to try keeping our selves in a stable civilized mind set for this demo discussion.

For Crysis 2. :)

A Demo would make waiting until march more comfortable. It's sandbox so we can play it over and over and over again, and still have fun. But I think they have to optimize the whole game in terms of PC graphics, bug destroying and finishing up a whole level with an open end.

As a level for it, I would suggest that level wich I think is the first one judging by how undestroyed NY is, and the Epic music when getting out of the building (beginning at the video).

I agree and that level would be an excellent choice. That's another one of the reasons we all have been collecting ever since this thread was made. Plus the author finally made an appearance. Hey!! black_angel!!

May there be a Crysis 2 demo.
