Crysis 2: The Importance of a Demo - for all Platforms

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 2:53 am

My guess at this time is that they don't have enough faith in their game if it went for a full demo. Bad Company 2 had a public beta' and it was bloody successful in increasing sales, but controversial titles like Medal of Honor failed hard because of it.

Crytek should prepare with a Crysis 2 demo before trying a hit-or-miss open beta hype multiplayer like what happened recently. I'm pretty sure Crytek probably wants to make sure that they nailed their demo just right for us.
Like I said before, It will. Hear about the information about the game coming Late January and Early Febuary? Well thats pretty much going to be a Media Blitz followed by a demo.

Quote me on this.

Thats very close to another reason why we need a demo and its about time the pc and ps3 gamers get a look and feel of crysis 2 before anything else. Two months to go ! just a little more patience for the demo.

Here's the real question, would you play 5 bucks for the demo?

Crytek better be listening! 29 Freaking pages of fans requesting a demo with plenty of logic and reason behind them. Hopefully this massive uproar will cause Crytek to at least pause and consider a demo. I don't care if the demo is 2 minutes long as long as we get one!

There is like 40 combined pages requesting 6on6 multiplayer to get changed, and that thread was created back in August. Crytek does not seem to listen to the popular demand of the community when it comes to design choices.

Also there WILL be a Demo.

You're not helping any. This thread should reach 50+ pages come February and BTW, Crytek can't change the 6v6 now because all the maps are already 6v6 size and could not be changed for release even if they wanted to. ;)

I'd hope so, crysis 2 is an unknown IP on consoles, and PC users could do with the reminder of how damn gorgeous PC games can be :)

Never. Not even for Crysis 2. I would boycott this, because this idea is ridicolus. I test a Demo , to decide, whether I buy the game or not. Paying for it will be nonsense.

Even if i get small room full of freakin' destructible objects, some platform style areas and a bunch of guns (think of machinima from Uncharted 2) and i will be damn satisfied! :D :D

Though the slight violence wasn't that necessary. Your point is also very clear in its form :) A demo's need has been resounding since page 1 of this thread. More and more reasons just keep piling on it. Somewhat knowing Crytek's style, their already taking this to a moderate consideration :)

Just in case they don't want to charge us for it; maybe instead of a closed open invite beta like before it could be a whole new demo experience for previous crysis games owners and for tiny tad general public that applies to it through this site like some special kind of login for testers and fans from this site to keep it limited and safe. As long as we don't have to pay 5 dollars.

I couldn't care any less tiff about hopes and dreams. So as long as a bloody single Player PC demo at crysis 2's Maximum settings exists and would be what has me and everyone else get it.

Yeah I would say yes to that but other demos I have participated in have just kept me tempted and nervous for the game. Too many spoiler hints, things you never expected, and some suggestions that may have been implemented. Still fun and cool though. So, I would rather just wait till February to play the demo when it is almost perfect.

Having said that; February is truly worth the wait.

I was going to say more on the demonstration tid, but then when I thought about it some more I thought my true feeling is that I really want to see more of crysis 2, rather than kept at a surprise for the moment and disappointed. Then again some real in game feedback might be needed to improve some aspects of the game, other than that I don't think I can wait any longer for February.

Another issue that was slightly addressed, the 6 versus 6 Mp feature was made in a good thread that reached about 35 pages to be exact just two weeks ago yet it was made during august. Plus feb. is coming soon, there was a mention by certain Crytek reps and devs in another thread in the News & Assets section about news news and media. :) (http://www.gamesas.com/forums/topic5849).
