Well, they would need to build the plot a little more, and it would have to have GREAT effects, just to live up to the Crysis title

I dont know. I was dissapointed with the far cry movie, that was based on farcry predator instincts rather than the original far cry.
It really had none of the atmosphere of the original game

Hmm, with the engine they have, it's a possibility, but they need really good actors. If not, then there's no point, the acting needs to be top as well as the VFX.

Nonetheless, it sounds good, but they're going to need a huge budget just to start off, if they wish it to be good.

If it was done correctly then yes. But after the Far Cry movie, I doubt Crytek will ever let that happen again.

When we are referring to "they", who exactly will be making this movie and with what imaginary money?

Nobody is making any money. People are just throwing around ideas.

And the imaginary money: Nitropolish. ;)

Well, firstly, I don't know who, you can decide on that.

Secondly, if they really want to make it really good, it's going to cost them alot, I'm no person who works on this stuff, but if they wish to make it close to an Avatar like fashion, then it will cost em' alot.

But then again, they're going to need alot of experienced people to do this, wouldn't they? So I can only assume they won't be doing anything like this as of now.

Maybe in the future, possibly.

I mentioned early on last year about a film of crysis, but was shot down, I personally would wait till crysis 3 before making a film....But not sure if it's been mentioned or not, perhaps doing a crysis film in total cgi rather than using actors..It might do better as you can do more with cgi then using human actors..

I don't know about a film, as I last year finally had a nice rig, I tried crysis for the first time at the highest possible settings and it is was like watching a bluray movie. The game for me is already a movie which is interactive. Story was so great of the first crysis, with in the beginning stirring about wtf is going on here, and in the end a big battle and that crazy but amazing Prophet that goes back to the island.

Just hope that 3D TV will become cheaper and avatar will be not so exciting anymore when you see and play crysis 2.

It would be a good 3D movie. Like i just posted in the far cry thread - did anyone else see the far cry movie? It was pretty decent for a foreign film. Jack Carver was German in it and they changed some of the story.

I would actually be really impressed if it were a CGI film done completely real-time in-engine. It would be pretty awesome if that could be done :)

Would I like a CRYSIS movie - Yes because I am a big fan. No one should be talking about the FAR CRY movie as anyone who knows - it was directed by UWE BOLL known as the worst director in movie history who keeps - amazingly getting money to make movies - and who keeps making the worst most hated and terrible video game to movie movies. There are actually pettitions to make Uwe stop making movies.
As for a CRYSIS movie it would be tough as in movies a lot of times the audience has to see the actor's face to connect with them and with the Nanosuit the main actor's face would be covered throughout- Nomad would have to have his helmet off throughout for the audience to connect. The audience has to see facial expresions.

10 years in the future, an advanced special ops team investigated a remote island in the Phillipines.

These men promptly escaped from the island because of aliens that woke up.

If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire... Raptor Team.
