I personaly think that if Crytek waited for the next gen consoles they could make Crysis 3 a better game without being limited by the power of This-gen console's. i would like to see another giant open levels with amazing graphics like in crysis and i think the console's wont be able to run something like that.

Tht does sound nice and all but crytek already are pushing the consoles to their limit theyre trying to get direct x11 on xbox and ps3 it sounds impossible but personnaly if they did wait for nxt gen consoles for crysis 3 i think crytek wouldve waited til then and not announce the game for another year or two cuz itd be stupid if they did wait for em now and ppl are alrdy impatient for the game after its announcement lastweek. What can u do, i think crytek shoudlve waited til nxt gen as well but theyre just pushing the game out alrdy to finish the trilodgy, ive seen tht before with some trilodgy games the company just throws updated graphics ect and release the game and announce it after the first two in a short time either a year or two after im surprised crytek announced it a few months after crysis 2 and its only been 14 months since crysis 2s been out

I could have sworn that I was playing Crysis on my xbox just last week: open world and amazing graphics. Graphics does nothing for gameplay and storytelling. If you can't see that then you should stop commenting on games.

as a matter of fact i have only played the xbox version ,incase you didnt notice the xbox version has decreased AI, a bit unstable framerate, and Several limitations due to the consoles not having enough RAM to actually run the original.

Crysis 1 on consoles is pretty good, and it's just a cheap port from PC. Crysis 3 is for both consoles and PC. The levels should be much bigger with open areas, just like in the first game. I doubt that Crytek would start lying about that after C2 was generally such a big disappointment for the fans of the first game.

LOL. LMAO!!
First off, even if crytek would make part 3 for the next xbox and the next ps, then still the pc would be ahead on every piece of hardware you could think of.

Secondly, a game is always made on a pc. The golden build in this generation is mostly the xbox, so in you senario it would be the xbox3. This golden build will be ported to the ps4 and the same golden build will be finished by a special pc team to make it pc delicious! This last step is where most publishers screw up or dont continue! Like with crysis 2 they made a choice not to continue, but make a simple one on one port. The rest is history.
Even if they would port a ps4 or xbox3 crysis3 to the pc, my pc would still have enough power to blast this game to bits.

Conclusion: consoles svcks, have always svcked and even this still to come next generation of consoles will svck even harder! The next generation of consoles are going to be more like a pc then ever b4, it will be standarized on DX11 for the next 8 years, while my pc has been on DX11 for the past 4 years already. This has nothing to do with the consoles or the pc, it has everything to do with the publisher! Crysis will never be like crysis started out on the pc, due to the other platforms that Crytek is forced to develop on. Only if they would make a pc version of crysis3 from the build up with 0 involvment of the console, only then will part 3 be a better looking game with more space.

this dude, seriously, hahahaha. LOL, a console gamer who is talking about a pc game.....always good for a lauch :). Crysis 1 was a cheap port from the pc. You act like your little console can actually handle crysis1 on all settings.

"Secondly, a game is always made on a pc." Not the full truth... only because its made on a Pc doesnt imply that its also "for" a Pc. A softwarecompany starts to develop with the targetmachine in mind... and believe it or not buddy .. to develop for todays Pcs is a very expensive and difficult task. Its not 1990 anymore where you could only think of 4 possible specs available... todays possible Pc-specs are almost uncountable. Next: The Api (Direct X or OpenGL) ... A great helper but also a big obstacle for optimising for todays Pcs. -) I refer you to john Carmacks last speech on quakecon.

So consoles are the reason while you still can play PCgames ... its a market that is still very open for new companies and innovative titles... but the consoles have the target audience who spend more money on games instead of hardware...i dont like it either.. but markets tend to change,,,and the overweight is on the consoles now...live with it.

Because people still get it wrong, everything is restricted by hardware, anyone could make a basic cube comprised of 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 Polygons that no computer could run in realtime.

The PC is the old story of having the same broom for 20 years, only it's had 12 new handles and 7 new heads

Incorrect

something that outstands in remastered is the focus on framerate. Original crysis didnt have budget so therefore they didnt put much thought for how framerate is gonna jump around, they just pumped it full of detail.

My PC does 32-80 FPS on everything max (and im not running any optimization configs or anything)

My PS3 keeps it somewhere around 22-30 FPS. Mostly running well but with additional dips.

@ Rukumouru

"Consoles could handle Crysis (the first) - fact"

This is wrong in multiple ways...
First: the original was build on the "performance hungry monster-" engine: Cryengine 2.
The "Crysis 1" for consoles was a total rebuild in a way more performance friendly engine: Cryengine 3.
For me as a attentive admirer of the Cryis series, ive noticed several cuts and changes in the console version, making it almost feel like im playing a "Crysis lite" on my 360.
differences i noticed:
- textures are heavily compressed
- destructability and physical reacting objects are reduced
- draw distance and LOD are heavily reduced
- the polycound and the shadows are reduced
- almost No AA present and a low framerate 25-30

So your statement consoles could run the original is wrong.
Consoles are not capable of running the Cryengine 2 and the original vanilla Crysis.
They were able to run a rebuild of this game with heavy cuts on a console friendly engine called Cryengine 3.

-fact-

Crysis 3 will hopefully make heavy use of POM, tesselation and Bokeh.... so it will technically crush the consoleversions from the beginning... as crysis 2 does now with modding, texturepacks and DX11 support.

Even the next gen of upcoming consoles can not run cryengine3 on full. All demos you see are om high end pc with raw power the console will never ever have. Furthermore, the console is becoming a pc every generation. Useless things, and i got them both. Only had fun on the ps3 with a couple of real real console games

Lol were you around while Crysis 2 was being touted as the next big thing and a 'choreographed sandbox' - which was described as allowing exploration and great storytelling, but actually amounted to a very linear game?

'Lying' is perhaps a strong word, but misleading is something that many developers do, because what the hell can they brag about if they don't get a ton of pre-orders? /sarcasm.

Return to Crysis
