Crysis 3 to be Unveiled in 4 Weeks

More info I picked up:

Crysis 3: New Crysis installment to be unveiled

Fresh from the successful rollout of Crysis 2, the series’ developer, Crytek, announced that it is looking to continue the franchise. Who knew? Video games are just like movies. It is easier to build on a previously successful brand than having to start from scratch each time. It doesn’t even take spectacular success for an initial outing to ensure some level of success for a sequel. Dragon Age 2 is proof of this principle. So it isn’t surprising that Crytek decided to move forward with a possible Crysis 3.

According to Avni Yerli, Crytek’s Managing Director, “[W]e’re looking to continue Crysis somehow. We have not said anything publicly yet, but maybe soon we will make something more public on the Crysis franchise. It is a very important franchise for Crytek, however any future plans, we have not revealed yet, but be assured there will be some new things.” You just gotta love these types of press statements. It’s not even a teaser. It is more along the lines of “Just saying things to keep our brand on the radar and keeping a platform open to build future hype on.” Given its success, a Crysis 3 has a more than even shot of being made. We’ll just have to wait until GamesCom 2011 to see if there are further developments regarding this “story.”

My only reason for believing this rumor is a fact is that Cry-Adam converses with that fan site and didn't refute what they said. It lends the rumor some credence in my opinion.

Its 100% rumour made up by some twat at a german fansite. The twitter link is his fansite's it has NOTHING to do with Crytek in any way shape or form.

Jesus christ people, dont any of you bother to fact check?

Just because it's a fan site doesn't mean they don't know stuff about Crytek that we don't. The people from that fan site meet with Crytek employees at developer events and the like and speak with Crytek employees a lot on twitter and what not. We know it's not straight from Crytek's mouth.

Many games nowadays are revealed to exist before the dev/publisher intended to announce it. MW3 was leaked before Activision confirmed it. Of course as we all know now, it was legit and the leak was real. It happens all too often today.

Of course, I think we all knew MW3 was coming anyway. :p

The new Rainbow Six game was also revealed recently through leaks. It turns out those leaks were true as well.

I still wish people knew anything about games and how they are created. Crysis 2 was released and probably before it was released, crytek was probably already working on Crysis 2 if it is actually coming out. The DLC was already created before the game came out. EA also pushed Crytek to get the game out, and that is why so many bugs were found after the release because of the game not "totally" being finished according to a Crytek employee I talked with on xbox in the demo employee play with weekend or whatever it is called. EA also pushed for the last DLC to be put out even though it wasn't supposed to come out for another couple of weeks.

Crytek had years to get the game ready for deadlines. Crytek are the ones who couldn't meet deadlines. EA already had to delay release multiple times because Crytek couldn't get things done when they needed to be done. It's Crytek's fault in my opinion.

I respect your view Grindout, and I partially agree with you. However, for the reason I stated above, I still think it's mostly Crytek's fault. That's just my opinion on it.

It seems to me the only ones that didn't fulfill their contractual obligations was Crytek to me. I don't know this of course, I'm just assuming based on how many times it was delayed so they could "polish" the game.

Of course EA was pushing for release, the game was supposed to have come out the year before. The game suffered massive delays which equates to lost revenue. That's Crytek's fault imo.

Sorry but again you don't understand what happened with Crytek though that is your opinion and that is fine. They had to get EA on board for revenue issues and EA games that aren't sports usually aren't good, because they push for a deadline that isn't reasonable. Yet this game is still amazing.

Crytek created a BRAND NEW engine for this game... and they created this game. The detail on this game is remarkably impeccable and that takes a LOT of time. As a graphic designer going into game design, they went above and beyond for the consumer. As Crytek you are going to accept anything if EA is going to produce finances for them. EA has been known for pushing deadlines and that is a reason most of their games aren't very good a part from sport games because sport games are just tweaked and given a little better skins.

Also after the game is release most of the employees also are released because they don't need them anymore and its a burden on the financial issues for the company. Also many of the issues came with them trying to make the game for consoles as well which a lot of coding is changed for it along with the difference in netcoding.

so what your saying is the **** that happens in crysis al the bugs and **** are because of EA's being impatient.

I'm sorry, but that doesn't make my point invalid. I'm not arguing that it wasn't difficult for Crytek. Obviously it was because of the current state of the game, but it's still Crytek's fault for not being able to achieve what they were meant to achieve by set deadlines.

It's all too easy to always blame the big bad publisher. Fact is, Crytek is responsible for ensuring the product is made well and in a timely manner. They didn't achieve this.

You can't fault EA for not wanting to hurt their business by allowing the game to be delayed more and more. EA publishes many great game. Battlefield being the best that comes to mind. EA sports is not their only good brand.

You keep saying I don't understand when it seems you and I don't know more than the other. We are splitting hairs here. You're not telling me anything I don't already know. In all honesty, it's both EA's and Crytek's fault. I just think more of the blame should be put on Crytek.

After all, Crytek chose EA as their publisher. If you think EA is the problem, well then it's Crytek's fault for choosing EA.
