I was playing Crysis on the Reckoning level and monitoring stats using Gpu-z.
I was running at 1080p with very high textures and the memory used was being reported as 986mb which seems too high to me - this was on a GTX460 1GB card. Does anyone know if the Gpu-z memory load reading is accurate or if these numbers look OK.
As long as you are not getting FPS loss because of it, you should be okay... You might have a memory leak that'll cause crashing, but otherwise it will not cause harm. Crysis is an extremely GPU heavy game, so I would kinda take the high memory usage as a good thing, it means the game code is doing its job.
I had texture streaming disabled so that's why it was using all the memory on the card. Still, I am surprised that a 4 year old game would use a full 1GB. Also, it seems disabling texture streaming has little effect on performance.
