Same problem here, and cant fix with copy the exe file...

Just ran into the same issue as the rest of you. Played fine yesterday on the patched version. Came in today and no go!!! Running Windows 7 64 bit.

This is really annoying. I am running 32bit Vista Ultimate and it will not run after patch. When I click the game icon to play it says that game file cannot be found. I go check the file, BAM! it has been locked access. I can not get the access back. WTF

I have xp sp3 so I think the OS doesnt mather for this problem ...its just annoying

For me it was like some others here, due to AVG. I just downloaded it using Steam. After installing, AVG kept saying there was a threat to which I kept saying to ignore. Then it wouldn't startup with the error saying it couldn't start. Inside AVG, I made an exception for the crysis.exe file and it now launches. Hope it still works tomorrow cause it's awesome goodness. I think anti-virus programs may be at fault or at least AVG for me. Running W7 64bit.

I disabled my kaspersky antivirus, after this I uninstaled the crysis 2 , then reboot and reinstal with disabled kaspersky but still not working ...I going to sleep

like others I checked the bin directory for the location where crysis was installed. In my case it was C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis 2\bin32 In this directory there was no crysis2.exe. My game was patched before to 1.1. After I quit playing on the day1 and went back the next day a clicked crysis2launcher.exe, I got a spinning wheel for 10 second and then nothing. I assume that this is beacuase there was no crysis2.exe to fire up the game.

I went to my install DVD and copied crysis2.exe from crysis2\bin32 into the directory where I initially installed the game. Now when I fire up the game "crysis2launcher.exe" it does launch but I am playing the unpatched version. The file version I have on the DVD crysis2.exe is 1.0.0.5858. I suspect this would be different if I was playing the patched version.

Campaign seem to be playing fine but from what I could have issues playing online if I can at all. Have not tried online with this unpatched version yet.

Thx for trying to help, but I have Crysis2.exe in my bin32 after update, but I tryed your version also but nothing happened.
The truth is I waiting answers from the mycysis guys, but they dont listening to me

So with my windows particion on drive E: not working but with win on drive C: its working, so someone pls say me how can I make working in drive E: too .

I have not been able to play the game at all. I sent steam an email and also the guys at crysis and still no reply. Like I said before this is a big problem when people cant play at all. They need to get on this or come on here and let people know whats going on.....

I have windows 7 64bit and two 460s in SLI. I even took one out to see if that helped and nothing. I had ESET Nod32 installed and I uninstalled to see if that helped and still no go.

I think this is the reason I can't access the multiplayer. The patch installs and screws up the crysis2.exe application, I had to copy the non-updated version of the application and paste/replace the patched one. For some reason, the patch screws up the .exe file, dunno why. Hopefully this gets patched soon. Running on Windows 7/64-bit.

Just play with out the patch/it happened to me/i uninstalled/installed game. When it tried to run patch/cancelled it. I run game with out it,runs fine.

I dont get an option to cancel it. I even went to reinstall the game and copied the crysis.exe when it was installing before the patch and that didnt even work. I don't even care about MP right now. I just want to play the game lol.

I can only launch the patched version if I first temporarily disable AVG protection. I could launch the unpatched version fine, so they whacked something with the patch. Quite a pain to just start a $60 game.

BTW, I'm running Win7 Pro 64bit, 450GTS GPU, I7-950 CPU, 12G DDR3
