Crysis2....Disappointing

Post » Fri Jun 03, 2011 12:04 am

I knew this would happen when I found out this game is coming out to the console market too...
But then Crytek assured the public that the pc game will not suffer from that decision and that it will be a dx11 title when its released.....
Riiiiiiiggggghhhhhhht.......

I'm EXTREMELY disappointed with this game.
I didn't read the box to see if its dx9... who the FU*K releases a dx9 game these days? ESPECIALLY since it follows the reputation of an epic title like Crysis, which was the one single game that was known for pushing PC performance to the limit.

I expected to see amazing graphics, I expected to see my computer sweat and beg for mercy.... did not happen. Disappointed...

ON TOP OF IT ALL
I CANT EVEN FU*KING LOG IN TO PLAY THE DAMN GAME ONLINE AT THE LAUNCH OF THE GAME!
What the HELL was the point of pre ordering this thing again??
This is total BS.

Just try to forget about useless dx11-features for at least a blink of the eye, I would like to know what you think about the A.I. in sp (didn't get to play it yet)

The AI is pretty retarded, if you stand in a single spot everyone comes to find you and you simply pick em off 1 by 1 until there's no one left. Ceph and Cell both do this. And Ceph love to bump into each other and block paths making c4 and grenade killing extremely easy. The entire campaign was very well made in my opinion but i have to agree fully with NuarStanger the game is not dx11 it is not as graphically demanding as crysis 1 i mean hell i upgraded my computer preparing for this game and for what? Worst performance than crysis? Does Nathan (CEO of Crytek) realize that the reason Crysis 1 was so damn successful is because no one could beat its graphics at the time? It was so damn realistic that it dropped jaws, people even used it to benchmark computers for the longest time. Everyone said "If it can run crysis at max, it's a gaming computer" and guess what? There still going to say that cause Crysis 2 svckS! And the multiplayer DAY ONE and 98% of people's cd-keys are invalid or "currently in use" what kind of **** is that? And when i call EA they said: "We are aware of the problem and will work on it when we can, but at the moment it is not a top priority concern." You release a damn game for $60, **** graphics, **** gameplay, and NO MULTIPLAYER which is what everyone bought this for and you say its not top priority?

How about this, PUT THE GOD DAMN DEMO BACK UP! ATLEAST THAT WORKED!

You know what came to mind when Crytek said the PC is going to be the number one platform? I thought of BC2. Ya know that game is not bad and it really shines on PC with its DX11. I thought that Crytek would do like Dice and not conform to the weakest link in the chain, being Xbox 360, and really would give us something to play day after day. I was so wrong. I hate this game. I had to uninstall it and just forget about it. I started a new game on the original Crysis and it felt good to go to a pure PC game, it just felt odd knowing there was a sequel that is just horrific.

Concrete jungle? Multiplatform? Nanosuit 2.0 (which svcks compared to the original)?

They butchered this thinking they'd make it for console kids and to take a share of the CoD community. Little do they know they lost more business in the long run. Congrats Crytek, you sold out, you made a **** game with average reviews. Don't even bother with a patch, it wont fix this broken piece of garbage.

Haha you guys are too funny. Just the same thing that happened in the Homefront-forums is gonna happen here. Before the game is released everyone is excited but when it's released , everyone is complaining. :D

If DirectX is all you people care for then just get lost. There is more to a game then just graphics.

funny thing is, i've read nothing but good reviews and the only people i hear whining are the ones who are biased and don't give both sides of the story.

Crysis 2 has been a huge dissapointment blame those at crytek that marketed it and made it and made all those decisions.
A friend of mine said once if crysis 2 were to FAIL he would put the disc in the microwave and watch it fry. Tbh that doesn't sound like a f====== too bad idea. :)

I can care less about dx11 since it is likely unmatured piece of tech, still nothing wrong with directx9, despite it is fixed function pipeline, you can make great individual engines on top of that.

But if the AI works the way you claim I will certainly be disappointed, nothing was more fun than Far Cry.
Far Cry plays so well and deep that I get the feeling it was made by different people back then. Anyway, I will give Crysis2 a chance anyway and see how that turns out. Even when you dumb down the excellent quality of Far Cry it has still to be a better game compared to pretty much all the console-shooters out there.

on the hardest difficulty the ai is insane. if you pop out of stealth even for an instant if not totally surrounded by stuff then they will most likley spot you. they are all over and sometimes hard to see so you might let your energy recharge and just get spotted. a few bursts from them will kill you if you're not in armor mode.

yeah sometimes they show up one at a time and i saw one guy running in circles. but what you gonna do.

If they act stupid from time to time it doesn't matter. In Far Cry AI bugs are happening too, but even then the game manages to keep balance and an interesting degree. If 9 out of 10 times the AI acts like it is supposed to act everything is alright;)

this is why wev'e got a PS3 right? becuase it can display a better image is more powerfull and we perfer it. . Ps3 cannot display a better picture. Blue-ray-disc is just a storage, it doesn't affect visual-power. You might be just brainwashed by commercials. They aim to impress the uneducated crowd. Also most multiplat-games don't look worse on ps3 because there is the Microsoft deal in the way but simply because the ps3-architecture is not elegant to develop games for. Look, 6 years past and most games do better on xbox360, because most of the games are multiplat-games.

It is disappointing to see, what have we, 3 awesome exclusives on ps3? It seems the ps3 is just not a productive platform to work on for games. And likely nothing will change in 2 years, but then it is already time to think about new consoles. Probably Cryengine3 will be used for some ps3 games and I hope it runs well on ps3. But unfortunately in the big picture Ps3 was more of a fail decision for sony.

The truth is only one! People who loved Crysis, was disappointed by Crysis2, because he hoped for something closer to the first Crysis! Unfortunately, the choices made ??in developing Crysis2, have focused on the console at the detriment of computer! so as to disappoint the old fans! It is no coincidence that the crysis's server have not suffered loss of user!

Crysis 2 Was Overall A Good Game, But The Graphics Were Definitely Dumbed Down Due To The Fact That They Did Not Spend As Much Time On The Graphics For PC, Because They Were Making It For Consoles.....We Can Hope For The DX10 - DX11 Patch...But I Don't Think It Will Fix Everything, Unless They Spend 6 Months Or So Patching The Game. I Still Really Liked The Game, But It Definitely Did Not Have The Graphics And Perfection We Expected, I Think Crytek Owes The PC Community A Crysis Warhead Equivalent Of Crysis 2. And It Should Be DX11 And PC Exclusive! I Suggest That It Follow What Happened To Prophet Before He Found Alcatraz, And Have It Partly Take Place On Lingshan...Please :)

While mp is still a bit bugged I have confidence they will fix it. That being said, I think this is still a very fun game. Worth every penny of the 60 bucks.

Anybody complaining about DirectX 9 versus DirectX 11 is obviously not a graphics programmer and has no idea what they're talking about. It's the stupidest complaint I've ever seen.

Yeah youre right, I'm not a graphics programmer.... But I can tell great graphics from... well Crysis2.
Dont get me wrong. It does not look bad... but not GREAT like we all expected! We expected cutting edge graphics from this game, not because we just did, but because they were promised to the players by CryTeK well before the games release!
Gameplay is still fun, but I really REALLY am a graphics enthusiast. Thats why I bought an Nvidia GTX580 in anticipation of this game...
Guess I'll put it to better use once some other game comes out that has better graphics then crysis2.... wow... i never thought I'd be saying that.... Ever... lol
And you saying there is no difference between dx9 and dx11... well.... *sigh* no comment.

Playing this game online is nothing short of a terrible experience.

Bad lag.

Bad hit detection.

Bad weapon balance.

Bad map design.

Bad framerate.

Ugh.

Just a **** disaster of a game. Everybody involved should be **** ashamed to have shipped this.

The AI is quite good actually but sometimes glitches happen that make them stuck somewhere.
