My Crysis2 Problems with multiplayer experience.

Post » Mon Sep 07, 2009 9:30 pm

I have Crysis 2 on both PS3 & Xbox360. Both look amazing in graphics. I spent a good hour comparing the graphics on skyline map multiplayer and saw PS3 seemed to have better detail but in the end the Xbox360 just had better framerate. The Xbox360 framerate is more constant compared to the ps3. You can especially notice the difference in the running water on the skyline level. Every where in the map, especially in the green house, you can see that the water flows smoother on the xbox360 while the ps3's looks choppy. Another thing you will notice is the ps3's version always slows down when you go in Cloak and the xbox360 doesn't. In the end the xbox360 just runs better in framerate and I wish the ps3 could run as smooth as the xbox360 because I always prefer to play my Crysis 2
Game on ps3 especially for the controls. It's not just in skyline but in all the multiplayer maps that you notice a sudden drop on framerate when you go in cloak. Another problem I encounter a lot is when you spawn and you can move around on the ps3. What's the deal with that? On the xbox360 I don't encounter that problem at all. My last problem I have on the ps3 version is on certain levels, especially the lighthouse you will notice the framerate drop and your controls start to lag. That really needs to be fixed. I hope these issues get fixed on the ps3 because like I said earlier I prefer to game on my ps3. Thank you crytek.

Seriously, people care too much about graphics and framerate nowadays. Graphics and framerate dont effect gameplay in anyway and i really dont see why people give a crap about them. They dont effect a fun online experience in any way for me. They are just bonus if they are good. Crysis 2 is a great fun game despite having plenty of bugs in there, I really dont care about framerate.

Are you serious?! I can understand the graphics, but a drop in framerate drastically changes gameplay mechanics. When A guy is right in front of you and is skipping across the screen, then that's a problem.

I've been on the side of the devs with this game, but the experience that I had last night playing made me rage quite. It was totally unplayable, and that was do to the terrible drop in framerate, especially on Skyline and Pier 17.A faster framerate along with a good internet connection means that when you are shooting and hitting someone, that you are actually shooting and hitting someone.

I never said I bought both versions of the game for comparison. I have friends who play on both xbox360 & ps3. Next time try not to assume anything. Thanks.

do u know what framerate is? cuz it looks like u dont! framerate is the most important thing in the game, its impossible to play when framerate is low! it like playing crysis2 on a 256 mb ram ! come ooonnnn!?

I agree. Framerate in games does matter. It might not to some people but it does to others.

You have obviously not played this game enough to know that the framerate does make a huge difference to the game, seriously sometimes when you have a Ceph Gunsip and or orbital strike the game pratically becomes very very unplayable.

I have not noticed frame rate issues during cloak, but have noticed it on the assualt and sniper rifle sights. The 2 things that are really peeing me off at the moment.
1) In cloak I wil randomly have a hit detector and I even take and then I am auto put out of cloak when no one is even near me.
2) The random times your gun will freeze and you won't be able to shoot almost like it has got jammed.
