CryTek actually committed piracy themselves once upon a time

Not sure why I'd never heard of this before today, apparently when Far Cry was being made, CryTek's developers were using PIRATED versions of Maya and 3DS Max to work on Far Cry, which would go on to make many millions in sales. Their office got raided by the police after an anonymous tip, and they arrested a few people, as well as seized many illegal copies of the software in question. Far Cry was still released on schedule.

Then they have the audacity to complain about their games getting pirated.

Yeah, I remember when this happened. I seem to recall Crytek was able to fix the situation.

An ex-employee claimed that the software was pirated, but it was just lies IIRC
