This is a real issue with the servers. Its just poor coding and has to be worked out. This WILL happen and I urge people not to use the orbital on my server because of the Lagging issue related to them. Most people listen after 3 times of it happening.

Has anyone ever noticed that whenever somebody uses the orbital strike and the whole server starts to lag, it usually involves the orbital strike destroying plenty amount of glass (ie windows or escalator glass) and the more the glass destroyed, the longer the lag?

and oh oh! Did you guys know you can destroy a Ceph Gunship with the orbital strike and also kill someone with nanosuit 2.0 with it?

Yup it's crazy worst part is I freeze but my buddy doesn't and he runs around and gets all the kills WTF ???

Its a common problem, but it doesn't seem to effect everyone but often you will notice people running on the spot or warping during orbital strikes and shortly after. Shooting at them (or if you melee them) and they still die even though they are probably no where near where your client tells you they are. Also reloading seems to bug out around the same time making it impossible to reload, aim and shoot after you empty your first clip, and respawning during this period could mean up to 30 seconds without weapon attachments when the game "re-syncs".

hey anyone else noticed that sometimes when orbital strike is launched that the server starts to lag

i have a rented server and after a few times lag i seen it happens just before orbital strike i checked my server stats and seen that the cpu usage went up from 20% tot 90+ after a orbital strike


before people ask no this isnt trolling

anyone else noticed s0mething like this?

well the most times that happens is on skyline, i will see tonight if we start playing if we have lag again when it hits, then i check my server stats.

Yes Orbital Strike causes the entire server to lag. This affects all servers I have played including the offical Crysis 2 servers by EA

well another thing crytek have to fix

Just wondering. Would be nice if someone would confirm that the problem is being worked on along with an explanation as to why PC players haven't had the balance patch yet.

I noticed it here and there, but not everytime with version 1.3.
But now with patch 1.4 I see this lag everytime.

It doesnt lag FPS wise, but when 2 people fire of Orbital at same time people dont move and you suddenly die like 4 times in a row without the chance of respawning.
Everything else runs fine its just like orbital shuts off you connection for 20 sec and plug it back in.

when i look at an orbital strike when it comes down, my fps drops by 20.
