Got some burning questions about Crysis 3 MP? Post them here and we'll do our best to answer them. People answering will be:

  • -Fellblade- is Lead Programmer
  • JohnC is the Technical Designer
  • MattB is a Designer

Some other notes:
  • Duplicated questions will be ignored
  • Trolling will also be ignored
  • We'll be answering as and when we can. Devs have work to do - I'll be responding in my spare time and when code is compiling.
  • We're MP devs; we have no SP information to give you!

It seems that the Sniper Scope works fine while standing still, but with the Assault Scope and the Reflex sight it seems that you'll get not everytime 100% a hitmarker. Like i stand still with my DSG-1 + Assault Scope, aiming on the enemy head (also standing still) and i get no or a body hitmarker.

Could you look into this?

I know that you added spread to the dsg, but shooting while standing still should work.

Will we see powerstruggle mode for C3 at all?
Are there any large sized MP levels in the final game?
What about mod support?

Why were poles throw distance severly nerfed ?

If you throw the pole, y u no have the pole
Farther you throw it = longer it takes to retrieve.

This change made me a sad panda, it didnt seem OP to me.

How's the spectator mode coming along? Anything you could tell us about this essential feature would be nice, especially if you want to see more competitions!

Also, have you looked into fixing the "no action" glitch? I'm referring to for instance, right after a melee, a reload, an airstomp, a ledge grab etc you cannot aim down sights, or even shoot. Or melee. That's a pretty burning issue for me too.

Hi, Thanks for taking some time to answer our questions.

I realise this was only a Beta, but are the graphics of the Ps3 version representative of the retail version? Or will there be improved textures?
And finally, if so, will this affect the framerate? It got pretty low during heated battles and stuttered quite a bit.

Anyway, thoroughly enjoyed the Beta and am looking forward to the full retail release!

Would it be possible to filter matches and servers on the level of the players?

How are you going to strike a balance between old and new players in the long run? In a sense, as not to allow new players were in the excessively harsh conditions under the pressure of the high-level players, which is of great advantage: open perks and the best weapon. And the evolving new player in the result will be very tight. At that time, as players that have access to multiplayer much earlier, had no such difficulties, being mainly in equal terms with others.
So it is the skill and ability of players to have meaning, and not only in the main time spent multiplayer.

  • Power Struggle is not in C3MP. There's one currently officially unannounced gamemode which I'm sure you can find some hints to out on the internet :)
  • In terms of ground-floor area, Museum and Airport are pretty decently sized. There might be a couple which are a bit larger, but some of them that have a lower X/Y limit are much more complicated and multi-layered on the Z plane so have a larger total volume. Matt B knows my favourite one :)
  • There is no official announcement about mod support at this time.
