Crytek. Focus on selling more copies not on selling DLC

I do really believe if all the core issues of this game were fixed and the game ran incredibly smooth that this game would be on par with any other premiere FPS game out there. As it is, it's unlikely that you are going to sell much DLC. Even though I'm going to buy your map pack I have little confidence that I will be able to play any other game type except Team Instant Action on the new maps because so few people will buy the new DLC. A better plan of action would be to treat this whole game as a big Beta. First, fix the core problems of lag/connectivity, matchmaking/host migration, and the grain glitch etc.. Second, develop a whole new marketing plan to resell this game post release almost as if it's a new game coming out. You could sell it as Crysis 2 Reboot 2.0 or something. Third, use a map pack to promote this game again by dropping it for free. You could probably make more money by using new free maps as a promotion tool to sell more copies of this game than you will by selling them to a few people. You can also one up COD and other MP games by also including new unique guns in the DLC. There has never been a COD gun pack but their community has been clamoring for something like that for years. Fourth, go to dedicated servers for even better improved game play. This would create instant buzz in the gaming world. You will be seen as going to another level with consoles and as company that cares about the fans of your game. Fifth, release a new demo that takes place on one of the new maps. Give potential new buyers of this game another perspective of what the game is like.

I doubt these suggestions will ever be acted upon by if I was your marketing director this is what I would be pushing you and EA to do. I do believe that this is a game worth investing in right now and not dropping the ball on it and totally focusing on Crysis 3. The bigger the MP base with Crysis 2 you develop at this stage the better Crysis 3 will sell. As it is, so many people who bought this game are very disenchanted with it. It's unlikely that Crysis 3 will sale any better than Crysis 2 without very big major changes at this point. The Gears of War developers proved that they had the balls to make major changes post release. Prove that you do to. I hope you consider these suggestions. I love your game and I want it to succeed and grow. Good luck.
