Should we buy every crap game that's from the console? Should we spend 59.99 +tax on a game that's been ported?

It's not because we don't buy enough games to make developers make a happy daily living. It's because you haven't put into our shoes and think "For 59.99 +tax, what does it bring to the table nobody has brought in before to make it more innovative? How exciting can the game get? How long will the game last me?"

"The PC market just does not support that cost of development, but going multi-platform does. If making a game that is bigger, better, more stable, performs better across a wider range of hardware, provides a continued visual benchmark for PC gaming, and more fun with a huge single-player and multiplayer offering is considered selling out, that seems like a really odd application of the phrase. The decision to go multi-platform has allowed us to bring a better game to everyone, which has been our goal all along."

Bring a better game to everyone? I can list a few cons

Terrible AIs
One too many cheesy cinematic scenes
No DX11 @ Launch
No Graphic Customization
No real innovative MP core foundation was put into the game
Last boss svckS
Terrible Storyline
___________

“We can assure you that PC gaming is very important to us and will always be important to Crytek in the future.

If it was so important, why is it that there was no graphic customization? No reasons put into why dx11 did not arrive @ launch? No reasons why the "PRESS ENTER TO BEGIN" was @ the menu?

Cut the crap right now. If PC gaming is very important to you, and will always be important to Crytek in the future, we expect a lead platform on the PC. You're now digging your own grave deeper and deeper. Why? Because you're now doing this for the money. If you really want to raise the bars higher, you would of went the route DICE went and you should of said
-
"Hey, we're going to make PC as the lead platform. It's 2011. In order to make better games, we need to use the technology we have now in 2011, and not 6 years ago."

Basically, they are saying "Screw xbox 360 and screw the ps3, they are outdated and they need to go. Once they see these awesome games, there will be higher demands.

Here is what you went wrong. Crytek UK.. and money.

___________

Look how many WoW players there are. Look how many SC2 players there are. Look how many CS1.6/CSS players there are that's still playing to this day.

It's not because we don't want to buy it, it's because you didn't put your best effort for the PC. You've always thought what's best as a whole to make things fair. You've failed to deliver your hypercritical words that blinded us from the truth. "PC Gaming is very important to Crytek" are just pretty words. You've lost a lot of respect.

Recognize that. Acknowledge that.

PS. I will be expecting an editor and a more sophisticated admin tools/security system if you want to gain people's respect back. Editor for free.

Hate to say it, but they are right. However to keep pushing technology they should take a page out of DICE's book and develop primarily for pc and port it over.

Maybe try to make a GOOD PC game, before discussing supposedly 'bad' PC sales.

Plus there are other ways for them to get money off the PC gaming industry.

An example is if nVidia or ATi sponsored Crytek a lot to make a graphically intensive game to promote their high-end graphics cards.

Gamers buy high-end graphics cards > ATi/nVidia gets more money to support Crytek > Profit for Crytek.

Crytek has become a complete sell-out, and they now seem to want to get 'rid' of their relationship with PC gamers, to make more console games. A damn shame.

The most financially successful platform is still PC regardless of piracy, which happens just as often on consoles btw.

EA made 76% of their cash with console games, where's your "successful platform" now?

source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_video_games

top 10 bestselling games truncated and added up
Xbox360: 46 million
Playstation3: 34 million

among the pc top 10 are EA's sims series, which alone add up to 39 million, and by themselves exceed the xbox 360 alone.

That only works for people using desktops. People whose primary PC is a laptop or one of those smaller desktops (the ones you can mount on the back of a monitor) end up having to shell out money for a new one if their system isn't up to snuff.

I have no problem crysis 2 being multiplatform, and console gamers should acting like kids.

If pc gamers are pissed at crytek, its not because its multiplatform. Its because severe cuts were made to pc sku like crappy console textures, blurry AA and excessive blur and HDR to hide imperfections, no physics, no custom graphics options and no quicksaves and worst of all No Dx11 implementation.

Crytek is full of themselves if they still believe they delivered a "visual benchmark in pc gaming". I am happy for crytek that console players are buying their game. But they should not lie to pc gamers. They never once confirmed that their will be no Dx11 on day 1.

All in all competetion on consoles if tough. They being a new developer on consoles have a tough road ahead, which might not be so profitable in long run. They have expressed their desire to compete with COD. Crytek has ruined their reputation on pc
. And PYI crysis 2 is not optimized. It does not scale better on good hardware, Extra gpu cores and gpu memory has no effect on fps on crysis 2

DICE know the lack of competetion on pc and have a reputation pn pc and hence are making a truely epic pc game

Crytek is right. The original Crysis sold 3 million copies because of console gamers.

Seriously though, Crytek should really be saying "PC gamers don't buy enough crappy games for us to be dikeing around. We **** up. We're sorry. Next time we'll actually release a worthwhile product on the PC."

Ha hA, this is funny!!!
Like I stated before. "This game is just an ordinary port from x box360!?!
And then the hackers, cheaters and multiplayer... Horrible!
I bought all the previous games- crysis, crysis warhead, and this one too, but this is the last one. If ever crysis 3 go out, I certainly will not buy it. And I'm sure I'm not alone.
What piracy?!?!!!!!!!!!
They shall not dare to blame pirates for poor sales or something, because they have to blame themselves, nobody else!
Never again Crytek game."

here we go:

EA also plans to move aggressively in the console space for both this generation and the next generation hardware. This isn't surprising given that EA-based console games accounted for 72-percent of its net revenues during the last reported quarter. According to this filing, PC games only generated 14-percent of its net revenue in the same quarter.

PC is dying, i was a PC gamer too when HL2 and CSS came out. but it's over. you can pirate your ass now. i ain't even mad. bro.

That is all I have to say to you.

(seriously the have a player base of 1/4th of ALL XBOX 360's sold on ONE GAME that was released in 2004, and that player base is STILL growing)
