I live in Japan, but I have imported the US PS3 version of the game, because I liked the demo very much.
The problem is that some of my friends (who live in Japan as well) have waited to get the Japanese version of the game, and this far we have not been able to play together, because we get a "version mismatch" error, saying that "An update is available. Please reboot the game, and ask your friend to do the same."
When I booted my US version for the first time (on March 23), I was prompted for the "1.01" update before I started playing. This 1.01 version is reported as build "1.1.1.6001" on the main multiplayer menu (top left corner).
A friend of mine bought the Japanese version, and was not prompted for an update, so I guess he was running "1.00", and he told me that the build was "1.1.1.5xxx" (I do not remember the exact number). Yesterday, he told me that the game prompted him for the "1.02" update. After installing, the build number reported is "1.1.1.6007". As of today, the US version was not yet patched to 1.02 and because of that, we keep receiving the same "version mismatch" error when trying to play together.
I would like to ask that you release a patch ("1.03", maybe?) for all regions, so that I will finally be able to play with my friends. Also, I am tired of getting just one bar ("ping bar") on every game. I have made it to level 31 even on these adverse conditions, but I want to play with/against players near to my location.
There are at least some five another friends of mine that want to play the game with me, but I had to tell them to hold on before choosing the US or Japanese version.
You have tried to make a Call Of Duty clone. In my opinion, you have surpassed COD in almost every way, except for the fact that COD games were playable across different regions/versions. Please fix this problem on Crysis 2.
