Crytek, polish up the PS3 version a bit more

Post » Thu Dec 04, 2008 8:47 pm

Game is great. Its can be fun, its unique, and can be addicting. Lets turn the 'can' and make it a 'will'.

Lets take the political crap out of the equation and and put the game on top of the podium. There's no sense it making multi platform fair, it is what it is and should be valued, taken advantage of, and built upon instead of held back and leveled off. If one has an advantage, than use it. It will keep the competition and current company in check so they can have room for improvement.

Clock in a bit more hours, write the codes, make a patch, and release it ASAP. We all know its possible to make the PS3 version superb. The resources are already there. Right now its a very good, but we all know, and you as the company, the game can be top notch with just a little more TLC.

Polish up the visuals, network, multiplayer, and minor details that way the game will be nothing but perfect, the way it was planned to be. All that can be addressed have been spoken everywhere.

I'm tired of hearing the complaints when I know the passion is there. I've read all the developer notes, press releases, and Q&A's. This game should be on top, not in the middle. It didnt fully deliver from all the hype the was stirred up- lets change that Crytek.

Very true - Pc will be using everything and its got so why limited Ps3 version - So much for everything on console could be done by cryengine3 - But you cant make a game thats a AAA title - looks like frostbite 2 ll bite You big time. Use the power of the Ps3 and maybe developers will buy Cryengine3, atm you aint gonna sell sh** ,bar MMO's on PC

If you are talking about visuals, I don't think a patch will be able to solve things other than a few glitches. To alter the bigger things you probably have in mind would most likely require rewritting large parts of the engine.

I love everyone jumping to conclusions that crytek was paid off to make the 360 version better.

If any of you understand how a graphics card works you would realize that the video card in the ps3 is inferior to the xbox, and the ps3 also has some retarded memory bottlenecks(which is where most of the performance problem is). You can read all the specs you want about the two chips but the 360 clearly is better in a real world comparison. The unified memory and the direct link to the CPU are a big help. The ps3 is limited to 256MB of video memory, where the 360s GPU can use up to 448MB of the systems 512.

The reason the ps3 exclusives look so damn good is the developers use the cell to aid the RSX in graphics rendering.

I think this game looks amazing on the ps3 and 360, but the framerate is so inconsistent on ps3 is not even playable for me, I picked up a 360 copy.
