Crytek silent

Post » Sun Jul 17, 2011 8:00 am

Hmmmm they must be working real hard to fix DX11 glitches and such... they're silent for 2 weeks straight just like they were silent after patch 1.8. Maybe they're working with Nvidia to maximaly optimize this game and such... And fix most of bugs tha are left. Thoughts any1?

I think they're done with this game.

I bet they are already developing another game, crysis 3 maybe ?

nah they're not nearly done... there's an expansion to be released too, explaining what happened on that island or something like that. It's not official but i bet they are going to do it.
Game is still buggy and they need to fix it(well for me its very much playable but for some people its nightmare...).

As long as we're speculating wildly-- One last patch within a month or two and, in under a year, a stand-alone expansion that works-pretty-damn-well out of the gate.

It might be like warhead was for crysis and we can replay the story in another part of new york, maybe as nomad or psycho. Just a thought but it would be cool even though i miss the island setting :)

Yeah I want to fill that gap in a little better playing prophet getting from korea to New york.

Maybe Prophet advises Psycho and Nomad to go drink some cocktails in the Bahamas until he gets back.

How about a non fps game with mystery and adventure with Hargreaves journey and the discovery of aliens and artifacts on earth.

No what game would be bad ass on cryengine 3. A game like fear. Uber scary with Insane graphics. Oh I can dream.

I just hope they don't pull a original crysis on us and drop support completely for a sideshow of a game like warhead. We seriously need some more fixes I mean the game will never be perfect but make it more fine tuned and more secure online and I will be happy. I still cant believe the audio loop on semper fi is still there. I use those keys because I started playing pc games along time ago with the arrow keys and I cant play with the standard kb setup.

Yes; perhaps something like Warhead; minor engine tweaks and performance updates. I just hope it isn't another 15 minute campaign!

Hell yeah it is! The whole game is in so many ways. I can't even finish Crysis 2 SP yet, it just doesn't feel like I'm playing Crysis, and gets boring for me. At the very start I was so not impressed by the muddle of intros.

Crytek and their silent treatments >:(

I agree with most people there slowly giving up on this game. And even if they were working with Nvidia to fix all the bug's. What about ATI i didnt pay £30 odd to Beta test a game. Its just another PC port. All the develpers need to get out of this rutt for thinking PC gaming is dead (Well it is now but...) its dead because no one wants to put up with all the bugs you throw at us. Ive given up on this game because the Story compared to Crysis 1 is... boring its just walking where you can. In a str8 line! where in crysis 1 you has miles to explore and have fun with.

Crytek community managers (Cry-Adam and Cry-Tom) have nothing to do with the patches! They are probably away, because they are busy at Crymod! Actually, they are pretty active, at Crymod!
@Blewk PC gaming isn't even near to being dead...

I REALLY doubt that there will be an expansion. Why should they "waste" new maps and new weapons for DLCs, when they could be used for an expansion pack?
Also, Crysis 2 is a console game, the PC version is just a port. I've never seen a console game getting an expansion before.

There won't be an expansion.

By the way, Crysis Wiki says that Crysis 3 is in pre-production.

Lol with DX11 and HD textures... Crysis 2 stopped being a console game. LINEAR SP gameplay doesn't mean it's CONSOLE. Also i can say crysis 2 is the BEST LOOKING game up to date and i believe it will be better looking then BF3 too. The reason why should there be an expansion is because CRYSIS 1 had expansion with a different perspective. Crysis 2 will ALSO have a expansion but it's uknown which perspective will it be... maybe showing us how did prophet find out they were under NYC all along. How did they destroy aliens on island.

lol when we get empowering gameplay made for PC not console (Crysis 1), that's when it won't be a port.

I hope so too!
I really love the first but the 2nd I do not agree at all ! There is no link between 1 and 2, I speak of story, there is a void, a lack, that is why we need an extension, a prologue of the 2nd.
Yes the 2nd is very nice, but it is like a beautiful cake but has no flavor...

You keep saying this but it still doesn't change the fact that Crysis 2 is a console port. The DX11 patch and extra stuff came after and was just bolted on.

This game wasn't build for the PC from the ground up like Crysis 1 was.

It ain't a port anymore is all i'm saying, do you have a dx11 card?, how you like the dx11 maxed?, look like a console?, didn't think so.

You continually moan about this game, if it were me i'd move on, for you it's a lemon, for me a Jewel.

It is still a port man, it might be a slightly better, more shiny one but the whole gameplay has been centered on and made to cater for consoles, and that's what does the most damage, at least for me.

Actually played trough C1 the other day and can say that C2 is somewhat better.

Better gameplay
Better written (why did Strickland sacrifice himself? Its moronic to say the least)
GUI is tied. (C2 has the map, and C1 shows where the grenades are).
Better suit interaction (frikken 4 modes svck)

Though there are some things i'd like to be in C2.

Vehicle usage. Just like in C1 vehicles were needed and you could drive them. (Ino in C2 u can use them, but hell, they are pointless).
Vtol fights - yay!
Massiveness , big maps, big explosions, big enemies - thats the thing i want.
Actual stealth gameplay - yes, want, please more.

Graphics? I dont give a **** about them....

I accept your opinion but:

Better gameplay - Wrong to many, most of which aren't even around here anymore to say so. C2 is less mobility, weaker suit, and overall cheaper action. First going into C2 from the originals, the delay and limitation was blaringly obvious.

Better written (why did Strickland sacrifice himself? Its moronic to say the least) - I agree, what Strickland did didn't make much sense lol, but the story of C1 was so much better imo, it all flowed properly, wasn't trying too hard to be over the top, and I really felt part of the game more, rather than the feeling of being dragged along in the messy C2 story.

Better suit interaction (frikken 4 modes svck) - To many they don't, they meant proper interaction and more advanced use of the suit. If simplified is your thing though then that's up to you, just know that it's another thing that stemmed directly from the console influence. The Nanosuit is in many ways really a 0.2 compared to C1 though.

Gameplay - Its the flow.... Its consistent, not like C1 where you had "3 seconds of fun, 20 seconds of dumb".
Written - Well, you were dragged, its the plot, but in the end the protagonist wants to be in the story.
Suit interaction - the flow.... Dude, suit gameplay in c2 was superior to the one in c1. It was easy to learn, and easy to interact with.
