Crytek - Stop deleting posts. Its rude.

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 8:22 am

As per title; if your not going to take the time to answer people's emails/posts re problems, then at least have the decency to NOT delete posts.

You obviously have moderators on here who spend time reading the damn posts, so either reply, or leave them intact so us PAYING members can discuss the issues we see fit.

Whilst I agree that certain posts are coming up too frequently and should be moderated, your not helping the situation by not responding and just deleting threads as you see fit.

Threads should only be deleted if there are personal attacks made, foul language, abuse etc etc. This is a public forum, a forum is a place for open communication, be it negative comments or not.

Gee well done for stating the obvious. How do you know I haven't read many of the posts on the forum?

Hi Silver420, posts only get deleted when they're clearly provocative, abusive, duplicates of other threads or simply cluttering the forum so much it's meaning users are unable to find the help they need.

The forums are hosted by Crytek and are run to support the community, they're not a requirement of the game. We will continue to moderate them in a way that we feel is of most benefit to the community.

This thread we'll leave open for the time being so others may benefit from this information, but generally a thread like this would be removed as it's not providing any assessment on the game, reporting any issues, or discussing anything significant, it's simply being confrontational.

He is right. This is not your forum. If you dont like it then dont post here. But you are the one who is being rude by telling them what they can do on their own site.

They're not a requirement your right, but providing what people paid for is.

Where's the support when posts are deleted about people not getting content in game that they paid for (special editions cost extra here you know)

I'm not fussed if you do delete this post, Ive seen you or other mods do it enough now on other posts on this forum. I will, however let my thoughts be known. You spend more time deleting posts than replying to them. You have obviously taken the time to read the posts that are being deleted, so common courtesy would be to respond to peoples problems instead, or leave the posts intact for members to discuss the issues. Instead you ignore common problems, emails (which i have personally sent) and somehow still have time to "moderate" the forums.

Crytec is a BIG company, a serous company, they just DONT do things that a 5y/o would do.

If a post is flamming, troll full it will be deleted everywhere

I don't wanna defend Crytek (they dont deserve to be defended atm) but it's their forum and you know what? They could even shut down the forums if they wanted. It wouldn't be a good step for them but they could if they wanted to.

Why is everyone on about what they "can" do? That's not what my post is about.

I have to imagine the life of a forum moderator for Crytek is not terribly fun at the moment.
