It wasnt, there has been lots of speculation, but Crytek has been over-secretive in what they tell us.

Maybe game was delayed specially for DX11... but i really don't care, if I can't run it on Ultra High settings, because don't wanna buy new graphic card for one game, I wanna play it.

My old GeForce 8800 GTX(768 MB) is ready for Crysis 2 and don't wanna know anything about few addictional effects for thousands dollars.

What other than Tessellation could DX11 bring to the game. My experiences with Tessellation so far have been underwhelming. In Metro 2033 if I use Tessellation I get a big FPS hit for a very minor visual benefit.

tesslation in metro is minor yet it drops fps like crazy
dx11 mainly is tesslation depth of field and sixy shadows
all of which kill your fps
but look at heaven benchmark 2.1 on youtube maxed out then just imagine that+crysis visuals
its what the gaming world is waiting for

My HD5870 cant run the heaven benchmark 2.1.
I only get like 15-25 fps with tesselation set on middle :(

That seems quite low for a 5870! I get a benchmark avg of 33fps at 1080p using normal tessellation with my GTX460.

I heard that the 5000 series of ati cant handle tessalation that good but o well Metro runs with 40 fps with evrything on max except AA

Depends on how well tessellation is used, civ 5 uses tessellation and the game actually performs better overall than in dx10.

Direct X 11 is still mostly just an small update of Direct X 10.
The only important thing would be if Crysis 2 makes heavy use of tessalation and do we need a Direct X 11 compatible grfxcard to enjoy the max settings? Otherwise **** Dx11 .. makes no big difference to its predecessor.

Iam actually using Dx11 on my GTx280... but obviously i cant use tessalation but some other features like multithreaded rendering should be also avialable for my card eh?

Well the game that is shown is not crysis2, since it is in the jungle. So the value of the video is very doubtfull.
CryEngine3 is capable of Dx11, but that is old news. If Crysis2 will be Dx11, we will just have to wait until more news from Crytek.

The speculation was, that Cryengine 3 works with Dx11 so hence Crysis 2 works with Dx11. It's only a speculation and should be treated as such until further official information from Crytek.

Cyrtek didn't say they use DX11 "for Crysis2" even once.
CE3 will support DX11, but no info "for Crysis2".

DirectX 11 support would be pretty awesome. If they support DirectX 10, I don't see why they wouldn't support DirectX 11 since it's just a number of extensions and tweaks over DirectX 10. I'd also love to see DirectCompute support for cinematic (particles, cloth, fluids, etc) physics processing.

I hope this game Crysis 2 is better than call of duty black ops, in black ops the people look like plastic thats my opionion, plus people are Downing Crysis 2 like it's not going to be better than Crysis. I want Crysis 2 to start 2011 with a bang!!! They should squeeze whats in DX11 and put it in Crysis 2.

The people in the demo in Crysis 2, sitting down in the helicopter looked plastic to me, "Thats my opinion"!!! I'm not trying to put down Crytek, I'm just pin pointing areas where they need to do adjustment's thats all. I want this game tobe AWESOME!!!!!

O bye the way I have "Crysis Wars" and in the CLOAK MODE I don't like the fact where you shoot a fire arm, and the CLOAK MODE Disables quick! Could you make adjustment's in Crysis 2 on the CLOAK MODE!!!

A fan and gamer of all the Crysis series!

Crysis 2 can be only half the game of crysis and still thrash black ops into a pulp both graphically and gameplay wise.

Also, if you are firing from cloak mode, L2P :P
