Crytek: YOU BETRAYED US ALL!

Post » Fri Jun 03, 2011 5:59 am

Hi,

I thought Crysis 2 would be still a good game.
Why I've chosen this bizarre title?
Ok:
1. 47 CVars total
2. .pak Files encrypted
3. No Advanced Graphics settings
4. No Screenshots of the PC Version / not a word about anything regarding PC but DX11

Crytek, do you want to hose me?
Crytek, wollt ihr mich verarschen?

Wtf.
And yes, I will still buy the game (and I'm NOT a pc whiner)

@Nathan Camarillo:
Tell me please what advantages our PCs have got over the consoles. Dedicated Server files? wow. Better graphics? Only minor.

Why exactly do PC gamers deserve a better experience than console gamers? Your version is better than the console version. If it was worse youd have a reason to complain, but it aint.

I'm sure it looks better on PC. Judging by videos and my personal experience of seeing it on the PS3. Regardless I think it will always look better on PC. Example - I reinstalled BC2 the other day on PC to play and it smoked the console even on High imo.

^So **** what if it looks better? We still have insanely small maps compared to the first, which will likely result in a lot less freedom.

Yeah, it's looking better. Ok.
And what about the CVars? I mean, normally the CryEngine3 supports about 4000 of them.
In the retail version Crytek looked so much, we can only use 47 anymore:

So wait, if we have CVars that allow us to pick detail levels for various settings individually... why the hell don't we have options for them? Seems like the sort of thing you could patch together in 5 minutes.

Well... PC hardware makes better graphics rendering and physics possible... So i guess... Just beacause it can look better should look better... The game on PC should draw the line for the upcoming games in 2011 as for visual orgism with cryengine 3.

But that's my opinion.

The main thing that annoys me is 1. the lack of information
2. Encrypted PAKs
3. Only 47 CVars...
WHY Crytek? I thought you would be a good company, but I'm not sure anymore.

überall weinen, überall heulen, nirgends ein danke. Das ist warum ich mich vom PC gaming verabschiedet habe. Bei Team Fortress 2 und Counter Strike motzt wenigstens niemand und das kann man noch zocken. Was versprichst du dir von DX11? Ein Mittel gegen Aids? Eine neue wunderwaffe?

@holzpfosten:
You have to post in English (read the site rules)
And I am crying because Crytek delivered QUALITY with Crysis 1.
Crysis 2 is still a great game, but:
- (MUCH) LESS CVARS
- No Sandbox3
- No DX11 ON RELEASE
- ENCRYPTED (!) PAK FILES

Do you notice something?
Do you know Crymod, I am sure if they will be informed about that, they will be CRYING a lot.

"better"is not enough!!
we need "much better"!!!!!
what did crytek built?a worse game than crysis 1?(NO SANDBOX,NO DX11。 crysis 1 had the most advanced technology in 2007, crysis 2 launch at 2011,but it has no DX10/DX11 sandbox?!)
i thought crysis 2 will be much real than crysis 1 before,but now?

so i just need Crytek to give me an answer,and give us the patch as soon as possible

sorry for my poor english

In SP?

@edit
Encrypted files and not available dedicated server files do not stop hackers. See: Battlefield Bad Company 2

Please ignore this idiot thread starter. Ignorant fool doesn't even own the game. The campaign has very open, huge levels. Not as huge as Crysis 1 but still very big and open. Ignore these morons.

Why do you even have to ask the question? Isn't it obvious? Our machines can push at least 10x more power than a console. Why in the world would we want to be limited by garbage machines that most of us PC players have never even seen before? Either give us a game worthy of a PC or just keep it. I would say Crytek is now officially a console developer. Its days of PC glory are over. They betrayed the PC community and now they're going to pay for it.

LOL, now who's lying? This game has tiny, **** levels. Very big and open, my ass. I've seen bigger levels in Doom.

You haven't even played it if this is your statement. Completely false. The levels are absolutely not tiny in any way. READ THE REVIEWS TO CONFIRM IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE MONTY'S OPINION. All reviews mention how large and open-ended the levels are. Not as large as Crysis due to the city setting but still MUCH LARGER THAN OTHER GAMES. There are certain very linear parts but they are rare and are a good change of pace. You're an ignorant, lying, joker. Don't reply to me again.

Lol, if you call these large levels, you've obviously never played any real sims / games. These maps are TINY. Much like the ones in COD.
