CTD during certain actions, cannot find offending mod

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 2:08 pm

Im having an issue where the game crashes, usually during certain actions such as going from an interior to an exterior, or upon firing a weapon, though i occasionally get crashes during game loading and semingly randomly.

ive deactivated all but everything in green, as if i deactivate those ones, i am unable to load any save, and the problem will pop up on a new game after a few hours of playing.

all mods are up to date as far as the nexus mod manager is telling me, and i am using boss. currently i am not using any bashed patches as i cant seem to get wrye flash to open.

I don't know if this helps, but whenever I try to play with Project Nevada (Core) installed I get CTDs and freezes when performing similar actions as you. That's the only reason I can think of.

I had a similar mod selection and also had crashes, mine were mostly upon exiting an interior but sometimes fast travel, buildings in Freeside were especially bad for the exit crash, after several evenings of some pretty exhaustive testing I narrowed it down to Project Nevada, be sure to disable all components and do some testing.

One tip for hunting down a crash is make a savegame before you do anything which would normally provoke one, it's boring as hell but you might be lucky enough to catch a repeatable crash in the act, helps testing so much.

It was a few months ago now but I'm still pretty bummed over it, I totally love what Project Nevada does

You may want to consider doing a Bashed patch with Wrye Flash because with all the things those mods change, you'll want to merge the changes that need precedence into a plugin which loads last.

Also, are you using New Vegas Stutter remover and NVSE 4GB? I found that running these two together along with changing "iPreloadSizeLimit" to 209715200 has done wonder for the stability and smoothness of my game.

im using the stutter remover, but not the 4gb or the ini tweak, i will do so

as for wrye flash, ive been having issues with it, i installed the correct version of wrye python, yet i cant get flash to open, at all.
