After hearing the news about skyrim i decided to go back and play Oblivion for old times sake. So i downloaded all my old favourite mods and installed them. Unfortunately it seems that things have changed significantly since i last tried to install mods. I've read through all the readme's and im still completely stumped. I can't play this game more then 15 minutes before a crash happens. It happens completely at random, during a fight, going through my inventory, wandering around aimlessly, even if i just stand still for a couple of minutes and do nothing it will still bring about a ctd and i can't figure it out.

Now i'm not exactly an expert programmer, and it's been awhile since i even played/modded Oblivion, but i've managed to get it running before.

Can anyone figure this out or give me some tips?

Yes i've tried using wrye bash (and struggled with it). TBH i just can't figure it out and all it did was just make my game go from crashing every 15 minutes to crashing on startup.

first i tried upgrading it from v287 to v290 (290 is the most recent yes?) but it refused to even open so i had to revert back to v287

then i followed the instructions from http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35230 as made by alt3rn1ty to create a bash patch but that brought all sorts of new problems
i couldn't figure out. it either just made my game crash when i loaded my save or it just gave some cryptic error whenever i tried to patch my save.

Your load order needs to get fixed before you go trying to Bash anything. You'll need BOSS for that.

Setting all that aside for the moment, what are your system specs?

I have BOSS, I thought it was supposed to do the organizing for you....i guess not? :blush:
