I CTD every 30 minutes or so. How to diagnose the problem?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but I assume this sort of thing is generally mod related, but for all I know it may not be mod related at all. I've come back to Oblivion after about eight years so I'm very much out of the loop.



The CTD happens sometimes when I fast travel, or sometimes just whenever I enter a new cell wandering through the wilderness.

What MenuQue version are you using? http://www.theassimilationlab.com/forums/topic/15105-relz-oblivion-xp/page-13#entry334067 and in my previous game I used MenuQue 16b with the latest OblivionXP without getting a CTD when fast travel or changing a cell.

Using version 16b. Was quite meticulous at seeking out the latest versions of everything so hopefully I've got that right!

I think that it might be a corrupt spawn point.



Procedure:


1. Remember what cell you traveled into that caused CTD.


2. Now go to some interior cell and wait 3 days + 1 hour (if you heavn't change the cell respawn time which is 3 days by default).


3. Then fast travel to that cell and if you won't have CTD then it was probably corrupt spawn point which was resetted by waiting.



Always apply such a procedure when you'll have CTD on cell change in the future.

In addition to what CarlosS said, it could be a resource thing. You have a light load order but you are running FCOM, a heavy hitter. Do you run OSR? If not, I would highly recommend it. The heap algorithms in particular help with resource management. A load order running FCOM, even without many other mods, will benefit from a better heap. Also consider "MoreHeap" by shadeMe. That helps as well. Finally, you could consider ENBoost.

And also remember to apply 4GB+ LAA patch for Oblivion exe files. And consider using Oblivion Reloaded for it's automatic on-the-fly Purger.

Check if MMM.bsa is properly named. It should be something like FCOM_Convergence_MMM.bsa or *name_of_some_active_esp**optionally_something_else*.bsa or it won't be loaded and cause CTDs when you load MMM monsters.




However, I guess it's standard "Oblivion can't handle lots of things" issue, which can be minimized by using LAA Patch and OSR (don't forget to enable Heap replacement in OSR, though, it is disabled by default).
