CTD more often then not!

Okay I've started a thread or two about having some load order issues and since then all has been ok, I have added some more mods to my list ones from what I can tell shouldnt cause much of a problem but for what ever reason I'm getting lots of CTDs, wondering through the waste random CTD, try to sleep CTD (not al the time but it happens) it's annoying to say the least because as I said from what I could tell the mods I have added all seems OK and BOSS didn't sugest anything about any conflicts plus there was only about five...ish mods it didn't recognise which I placed quite easy so once again I'm here in a plea for help!!!

Could someone please have a look at my list and its order and possibly tell me what should be, what should be and what shouldn't be...

some little things, that i can say about this:

1. BOSS masterlist for FNV is still very new and maybe there are still some problems hidden in the suggested loadorder, but this needs many players using it and a lot of time to find eventually existing bugs and also that those players report those bugs to the boss-masterlist editors.
2. The actual version of Nevada Skies (0.6 afaik) must be used without the Nevada Skies.esm
3. Most mods for FNV are also very new and still not totally bugfree, so it is absolutely possible that one of your mods contains a scriptbug or whatever.
4. Maybe there are incompatible mods in your loadorder, that are not yet known as incompatible with each other.
5. If you change your loadorder and the loading mods very often, there is a quite good chance, that you corrupt your savegame over time.

Thanks for that, I do have a load order I was using that I BOSS gave me some time ago which I was sticking to I'll revert back to that and see if it helps any...and as for the Nevada skies mod I don't know how the core ESM got there because I already knew you can't use both the ESM and ESP together, must have installed it by mistake so I'll remove that right away...Thanks for pointing that out.

Still in big need of help people,tried reverting back to a previous L/O and have disabled recently added mods but it's still crashing, not AS often but it's still happening. It's actually starting to just freeze sometimes during play now as well, would be running along and the music will starting start jumping and that would be it game would freeze :( I need some advice on something I really don't wanna lose 48hours of play time :nope:

I hate to say it because I LOVED the effect that had.


From what I've seen that guy has been having a pretty rough time. The v0_4 is notoriously bad. If it's what you have you're apparently screwed. You'll have to disable it and start a new game with v0_3e. [censored] happens.

:o WHAT??? start a new game....why??? why can't I just disable it and continue??? :(

EDIT:

Just checked lucky I haven't got the v0_4 version of it. it's v0_3e I'm using...still though, could that version still be the cause of all my CTDs??

1. Since you already had problems starting "American Hammer Compact.esp", I assume it's better to delete and play without it, as this could be the source of your problems.
2. You're using merged patch and bashed patch. You should redecide to use only one. I advice you to use the bashed patch in conjunction with BOSS.
3. You're using IIWR 2.07m upgrade to the newest version. Old versions showed some increased crashes for me.
4. Get rid of populated wasteland. You're using active wasteland, which basically does the same.
5. Darns UI mods should always be loaded early, if not as the first mod in the line.
6. You use companions de-equipped, CombanionsImproved does exactly the same+some more features.
7. You use a lot of thoose Advanced reacon gear mods in conjunction with the thermal vision mod. Booth mods on some parts do the same, conflicts are usual with that. You gotta make a decision here.
8. You use the HeadwearshaderFX.esp and the ThermopticPowerHelmets.esp. Booth plugins do the same, they even use the same script. So I bet this is a source of crashes too. Use the HeadwearshaderFX.esp as it's an improved version.
9. The sorter mods should be loaded early in the list and you also need to make them compatible with bashed tags.
10. You use the "Companion Sandbox Mode.esp", CompanionsImproved.esp does exactly the same. Get rid of one of thoose.

Most important, you have much to much mods. Some of them even make changes to the game that are totally unnecessary. Your load order is totally random. Strip down your modlist and redefine the load order, make a clean save and restart the game from there.

After trying and trying and trying still I have had NO joy, remover all the suggested mods re-ordered my L/O with BOSS and still I'm pretty much having the same problem.
only mods I didn't remove was active wasteland and populated wasteland, @SirDrinkAlot you said active wasteland does the same thing as populated wasteland but it doesn't, if I'm not mistaken it adds no NPCs it just allows you to interact with things in the wasteland like light switches, clocks and allows you to make coffee so I didn't feel I needed to remove it plus I had it in long before the crashing started same thing actually goes for populated wasteland I had it long before the crashing started (I'll try removing it though see what happens). I even reverted back to a save which was 7hours less of game time so I could guaranteed it wasn't a corrupt save and still it's happening... :cry:
Is there any chance it could be something I have tagged or a setting in the bash patch maybe??

EDIT:

Just removed both populated wasteland and active wasteland and the result is the same...it's actually crashing in the exact same spot as well now...I'm starting to lose faith :(

I had to restart my hard-earned playtime like 4 times, thanks to faulty/updated mods or the patches too. :cold:

Make a hard save just before the place it crashes, when you say it crashes in the same place I assume you mean when it starts loading a cell. After the hard save disable all mods and see if you can progress into that cell without it crashing, if so then you know it isn't a corrupt save it is a mod. If it still crashes it is a corrupt save. If it is a mod you have the job of tracking down what one. I am having a similar issues now, but i think it is a issue with the new electro city mod.

That's the thing I've done that and I manage to get past that point quite some time ago and all the mods I added just before it started happening I have removed yet I still have random crashes, it's not when changing cells or entering a building (I did have the building part though but again manage to bet past that, that one was happening every time I had that guy Raul Tejada as a companion, soon as I didn't get him and tried entering that same building it didn't crash (the building was the one on the "still in the dark" mission with all the robots, I forgot the name)) so I'm just lost on what could be the cause. The thing is I can't remove all mods and try because it don't happen straight away...I asked if there was a chance it could be down to any tags in the bash patch but got no answer so still in BIG BIG need of help!

You really need to just dump that BOSS and merge this and bash that crap. Get FOMM and NVSE. That's all you will ever need, this other stuff your using is a load of crap IMHO. Whoever told you to use them needs to be knocked senseless. Yea, my reply will either get deleted, edited and I will probably either get warned or banned. But I really get tired of people saying use this and that and Oh Yea, you also need to run around the block butt naked, screaming at the top of your lungs: "I'm a goofy goober YEAH!!!!".

People need to understand that just because certain things work for certain people, doesn't mean it works for everyone. Stick to the basics and the basics are FOMM and NVSE.

Ha if I didn't have a trapped nerve in my back that running round the block screaming might help to release some frustration..though I don;t think my neighbours would appreciate it much eek!

That aside though...WOW that's actually the first time I've herd someone burn BOSS and flash/bash like that I thought everyone worshipped those two utilities...it would seem I was wrong. Ain't they supposed to be much more accurate then FOMM and a merged patch??

NVSE I'm already using as some mods I have require it and FOMM I have installed but don't use it tbh...only thing I used it for was to further push the graphic bars up.

Let's just say....well I guess I said it already. Not a fan. I am not burning the creators of them. They have opened other avenues for certain ppl. But NOT ALL! I have used them and I hate them! Never once did they work properly for me. I will stick to FOMM and NVSE. I have never had any issues using what I do. BOSS was a pain for me and always will be. Didn't even work right in Oblivion and def doesn't work properly in NV.

FOMM even sets the load orders PROPERLY. You can do ALOT with it. Had a mod in FO3 that you couldn't live without? Guess what? You can port it with FOMM. Unofficially of course, for personal usage, unless you get the original modders permission to release it.

BOSS always caused me major headaches. FOMM never has.
