CTD, i need help ?

Post » Sat Nov 23, 2013 7:48 am

Hey guys, Im pretty new into the modding world, but i do have some experience and I need help. I've been getting a lot of CTD's or crashes lately. I've started a new game with the mods listed below and i'd crash roughly every hour or less. I did install CTD's ENB boost to lessen them along with stuff like saftey load and and stable ugrid load. But that is all i can do besides prevent conflicting mods. I am not sure if them problem is script based or something else like my PC not able to support it. But here is my mod order from BOSS and PC specs. If any helps is available I am open to everything.

PC: GPU:Gefore GTX 660 CPU: AMD FX™-8320 Eight Core Processor Memory: 8Gb Ram Windows 8.1

Try using the mod "Simple Borderless Window." It greatly increases game stability.

What is your uGrid set to? It's my opinion that any setting above default 5 is NOT stable especially with as meany script intensive mods you are running. The longer you play the more unstable it becomes.

How would this help, since i use full-screen, or would going into windowed mode help with stability as well ?

I believe it is default, I never touched it. I know th Ugrid stable mode is for high level settings but I never touched it, I actually can't find uGridstoload in ini folder.

Windowed mode can make the game perform better for some people, including stability. Run the game in Windowed Mode first, if it is more stable for you, then get the mod that removes the border.

Note, you will have to use the Stock Launcher to enable Windowed Mode, then exit out of that and use the Script Extender launcher to get all your mods to work.

Alright will do. But in the script side of things how would i know which ones to get rid of or know if they are defective.

I don't know much about the ugrid mod. I think it lets you play with different settings without the worry of messing up save games. If you are not going to change those settings then I wouldn't use that mod, unless there is some other benefit it provides. I don't think it is causing your crashes though. I believe it is the sheer number of scripts running, though you do have a beast of a CPU.

You don't see the ugrid settings in your ini because it is at default. You would add them to change it. (Unless the mod does it some how)

In the Convenient Horses mod there is a feature to test script latency. Play around with that as well to see if figure something out as well.

Yeah, i saw that but i didn't know much about it so i don't want to mess with setting that could be game breaking, and I have a wide-screen monitor so going windowed mode is way to small trying to make it bigger is being a problem.

In your skyrimprefs.ini under display look at iSize H and iSize W. Does it show the proper screen resolution?

Hitting ctrl+enter makes the windowed mode full screen.
