This is old news and Vsions has already stated in the forums that we should just wait and see, implying that there is more to this than we think. For example: highly customizable armor with crafting, the armor only being combined in the inventory, but consisting of separate pieces, etc. Bottom line, we don't know. So nothing is confirmed. /thread

Cant watch the video... im at "work" lol. But if this is true... well im not sure... I feel that they sould be seperate because it gives more customization when u are able to put on your armour piece by piece rather than 1 big bulky part. Hopefully this doesnt make the armour very expensive or weigh lots...

I thought I stay current with all Skyrim related but speculation but i've never seen those armor comparison shots before.

What I get from that is that clothes under armor will be returning.

Thats made me quite hopeful.

We've seen this before, and it really doesn't matter to me anymore. Yes, it's a bit less customization, but most greaves in Oblivion only looked good with their respective cuirasses anyway. As long as this doesn't carry over to shirts and pants, I'm not that troubled by it.

As for the Vsions comment, I doubt his bosses would tell him "don't confirm that cuirasses and greaves are still separate, we enjoy the strife on the forum." It's much more likely that they wouldn't want him confirming that the two have been combined. I think his comments are saying "Yes, they're combined, but you'll have way more armor options than previous games to make up for it."

Yeah, Pete said the same thing.

There's more to it than "less armor slots, less customization, dumbing down, boo"

I think a mod really needs to change the title of this thread since there was nothing confirmed in that video. He basically just sidestepped the question, which could mean anything. Plus the screenshot Luke posted already makes the title false.

I dont know what I cant believe less:

1) That you made a thread for this OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD video that has sparked millions of threads already.

2) Or that there are actually some people here for whom this is new.

And dont come at me "not everybody is here on the forums all day long", because its not even about that. This was on E3 week, and there were HUNDREDS of people here. Lets stop excusing people for not using the search feature. Its irresponsible. I mean, look at the views on that Ashley Cheng interview, and its date. Who do you think you are that you thought nobody here had already seen this, and that you found some hidden treasure?

Ok, now more calmly...he IS dodging the question, but dodging a question is not necessarily bad (unless you are a politician). He probably is itching to explain to people why they are merged, and how the smithing works, but he knows he cant say anything yet. Bethesda is being pretty tight lipped about everything, which is a fan service. During Oblivion's release, people were whining about how much info they were releasing. Well, they listened, and announced their game just one year prior to its release, and are being pretty secretive about some things until the right time to not be secretive.

Agreed.
He even said theres tonnes of armour customization. The games in good hands dont panic.

The interviewer really needs a new conditioner. Anyways like others have stated we don't know the full details, there could be substantial twists to it when Black smiting comes into play.

I'm pretty sure they are doing this because it is WAY easier. Look at the gap between Morrowind and Oblivion for customization? (which is why oblivion svcked in comparison) Bethesda is going downhill fast in the RPG department. Even RUNESCAPE sounds like it's going to have more customization...

This game is feeling more and more like Fallout, where the only customization we are going to be able to do is boots and a helmet... Hopefully someone will mod the crap out of this so we can have a classic Morrowind style game again.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to buy this game. But I'm probably gonna have to mod the crap out of it to get the type of experience I expect from an Elder Scrolls game. I had to with Oblivion.

Um.. Why mention Fallout considering Fallout is an RPG. :sadvaultboy:

Edit: Also why would they completely dumb down customisation when it was one the major criticisms from Fans from Oblivion? I think they've got something up their sleeve that'd have more customisation then Morrowind but done in a way that you keep to a nice uniformed look.

LOL! OMG, we are reaching a point in this forum where now Fallout is not "hardcoe" enough lol!!! WOW! I never thought I'd see the day.

This is a sad day to be a TES fan.

That's just blasphemy. Nobody makes better rpg's than BGS. Fallout 3 was an RPG, and so was Oblivion. I never mixed and matched anyway. When you use clothes or armor from different sets, you look stupid. Also, until they restrict you from choosing to be warrior/thief/mage, or being able to choose how to play the role you chose, then it's a rpg. I would also like to add, screw Morrowind. I played it, and I love it. But people act like it is God's gift to gaming, and it isn't.

Oh, and sorry to sound like a jerk. I just hate it when people bash Bethesda when nobody else can even compete with them.

Vanilla Oblivion is fine as it is. Mods go a long way to improve variety in loot and enemies, but the core game is still packed with tons of impressive stuff.

Morrowind has a 2011 graphical overhaul that makes the game as visually impressive as Oblivion, if not more so. If you want an HD Morrowind, play that.

TES is about as traditional as an RPG gets these days; if you want dumbing down, check out Fable 3 and Dragon Age 2. Even The Witcher 2 was much more of an action game than Skyrim, as was Demon's Souls. Skyrim gives you more choice in character development than I've seen in any RPG for years.
