Cumulative Speculation related to TES V #16

Post » Mon Oct 12, 2009 2:03 am

the answer, if i know my lore, is very much related to the speculated setting (hope i didnt give anything away - i don't guarantee the correctness of the 'hint'). combine that with the publicity Tod has been giving, the new community manager, and the increased dev activity...

I don't think you've given away much, I mean Talos was a nordic general (usually), never mind the secret identity of the proto-Underking, all you need is Talos to draw a connection.

Make us simmer until we can't take it, then release all that pent-up energy at once. It's a clever marketing tactic.

There will be other questions which won't be intrinsic to Nord history. They proposed by TIL, anyway. I'm more curious about the Zeni mmo, right now. At least we know where TESV will unfold.

I wonder if it would be possible to make a construction set for consoles, maybe Beth will do that with TESV if its possible?

I don't think that's likely to happen.

gamesas made the contruction set to develop and build the game world in a relatively easy way, and they developed the game on the PC. All the graphics, sounds and so on were made using PCs, not consoles. Then they just released their tool for free, and have no intention of developing and spending money on a tool to the consoles they won't use. Just like how Photoshop isn't released for consoles either.

I suppose your right, just trying to get something new to speculate on.

Point taken. I mean, the waiting has only just begun! The speculation is mostly concerned with an official confirmation, at the moment.

It's a worry for me, because I'm not happy with their previous chapters. Why not add a fifth to the list sooner than later? i kid, or do i?

You guys shouldn't read too much into a simple trivia question.

I for one dont mind how long bethesda takes to produce a great game but what im really worried about is that they will make it for the playstation 4/xbox720 which are apparently secretly being worked on for around 2011-2012 mark release. it started with halo and now it seems that each sequel comes with a new console. This seems likely because already the xbox and PS cant cope with much more than what oblivion already has so how would it work with the new TES? Alot of money out of my pockets soon

TES V doesn't have to be more graphically amazing than Oblivion.

Redoing large parts of their basic technology, and a confirmed focus on the animation system.

The next generation of consoles, or at least the next Xbox, WONT be coming out in 2011 or 2012. Read http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/105/1059470p1.html. Microsoft says they don't think they're halfway through this generation yet. Which makes sense, considering Natal will be extending the lifespan of the 360 for quite a bit. The Xbox 360 was released in 5 years ago, so if Microsoft thinks they aren't even halfway through this generation yet, that means we have absolutely no reason to think that TESV will be made for the next generation of consoles.

And don't worry about the PS4, Bethesda seems to make their games for Microsoft first, Sony second, so if Microsoft doesn't have another console coming out but Sony does, they're going to make it for this generation, not the next.

Also, don't use this post as an excuse to start bashing Natal please. ;)

So, is that an indicator in any way of TES V being for next generation consoles? Can 360s and ps3s handle TES V if Bethesda is improving upon some of their technology?

xXAntibodyXx, would Bethesda release the game for a new Xbox if that was the other way around?

Go look up a game called Rage. Then look up a game called Section 8. If 360's and PS3's can handle those types of games, I don't see why they wouldn't be able to handle something better than oblivion.

It seems like Oblivion already pushes current consoles to their limits.

Oblivion isn't really coming close. It's just poorly designed.

IMO, if Sony released a next gen console and Bethesda favored Sony, they would probably do what they did with Oblivion and release TESV as a PS4 exclusive first and then release it on the Xbox 360 or Xbox 720 a year or so later.

I doubt the new consoles are coming by then. There can definitely be some big improvements while still on the current generation.

Consoles aren't so much limited by graphics as by optimization. Oblivion was poorly optimized and suffered as a result, compared to other games that look ten times better and run ten times better as well.
